Honeymoon Booked!

Cassie, on July 1, 2019 at 10:49 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 14
We finally decided on a honeymoon and booked it this past week. We both love the mountains so we’re considering that but I’ve always envisioned my honeymoon to be somewhere tropical so we booked a cruise. We’re going on the Carnival Breeze for 7 days to Amber Cove, San Juan, St. Thomas, and Grand Turk. Now we just have to choose a few excursions and we’re all set. We are waiting a few months after the wedding and will set sail on our 3 month anniversary. Is anyone else doing a honeymoon cruise? What excursions are you doing? Anyone else waiting for the honeymoon or are you going immediately after the wedding?

Our honeymoon is also a cruise! My fiance is not a big "beach" person, but I love the relaxing feeling of the water and such, so we decided a cruise would be the best of both worlds. We also were dead set on doing some traveling that we probably won't want to do when we have kids...so we are going on 7 Day Western Mediterranean cruise with Norwegian. The ports are Rome, Florence/Pisa, Cannes (France), Palma (Spain), Barcelona, & Naples. Our wedding is on September 21, but we will not leave for the cruise until October 30. I'm glad we decided to wait a bit, it gives us more time with family who will be in for the wedding and take care of things at work. As for excursions, we still have to figure them out. Some are SOO expensive!!

We're considering a cruise as well, but neither of us have ever been on one, so I'm definitely following this thread!

Oh that sounds amazing!! I took A Norwegian Cruise to Bermuda and loved the ship. I could sit on the beach with a book for hours and be perfectly happy however like yours my FH isn’t a beach person either, he find it boring. So that is why we have to book a few excursions, and your right they can be expensive.

Cruises are the best. I love not having to worry about how much something is going to cost or trying to keep track of what I’be spent. Plus you get to visit multiple places which is a plus. What are you doing for your honeymoon?

I think it’s a great option because you get to visit multiple destinations in a short amount of time. I also enjoy cruises because I know how much I’m spending ahead of time since they are all inclusive, minus the drinks unless you purchase the package (which I always do). I’ve been on 3 cruises (Carnival, Norwegian, and Royal Caribbean) and have enjoyed all of them.

Was there a specific cruise line that you felt was most honeymoon friendly? I've heard to avoid Carnival because there's so many children.

We are also doing a Carnival Cruise! We are so exicted! Ours is only a 4 day though because this will be FH first crusie so he doesnt know how he will react to being on the boat! We are going to 2 parts of the Bahamas. As for excursions we will be doing a segway tour!

The Norwegian I think had the least amount of children on it (if I remember correctly) and also had the option to pay for an adults only area that I think would of been worth the extra money. The Norwegian Cruise I went on was actually for my friends wedding. She got married onboard and it was very nice. Carnival is definitely more of a younger party crowd and lots of children but they do have an adults only section that’s free. We ended up choosing carnival because they stopped at 4 ports compared to the 7 day cruises on Royal and Norwegian which only stopped at 3. If it hadn’t been for that we would of went with Norwegian. Also if your sailing a Caribbean cruise with Norwegian or Royal they have their own islands that they most likely will stop at and they are mostly all inclusive as well.

I think a 4 day Cruise is perfect for your first cruise. I hope your FH enjoys it. My FH went on his first cruise 2 years ago with a group of our friends and he was so nervous, and insisted we at least have a port hole. I’m always up for an inside cabin so I can spend more money on excursions but 🤷🏻‍♀️ he wasn’t up for it. I looked at a Segway your and then thought nope I am so clumsy I don’t know if I could do it.

We have done this exact cruise itinerary! We did snuba and snorkeling as well as some exploring on our own and loved every minute. You will have a wonderful time, congratulations and enjoy!
