Honeymoon: Beloved Hotel or Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun?

The Beloved Hotel in Playa Mujeres?

My best friend stayed at Secrets Maroma Beach and he said it was amazing! The service, the view, the experience, everything! We wanted to go their for our honeymoon, but it was just too expensive on top of the cost of the wedding.

I've stayed at Secrets, and if resorts are your thing, than you will love it.

I however, don't like people all up in my business. So I discovered that resorts are not in fact for me. I also got sick, but there is really no way to know if that was from the resort or the airports on my way.

Please if you go to Secrets, what I found most hilarious was the GIANT fertility fountain at the entrance. It was all I talked about because I am a pervert.

I've heard great things about The Beloved. It was actually the hotel next to ours on our honeymoon. The hotel seemed a bit on the smaller side compared to ours, but the beach space is great- secluded with an awesome view of Isla Mujeres and Cancun.

We stayed at Excellence Playa Mujeres and I can't recommend it enough. I know it's not one you mentioned, but it's seriously right next door to The Beloved. The rooms are fantastic and the restaurants are freaking delicious. The spa is also really great. We never felt bored and there was always something to do both during the day and at night. I really recommend looking at it.

Valarie- you will love it! Paul and I already want to go back! Make sure you take your marriage certificate with you! You get a honeymoon package and 20% at the spa if you go within a year of your wedding.

Melissa- have you compared the resorts on Trip Advisor? I always find that helpful.

@Kristenann I heavily rely on Trip Advisor Isn't it the best?! I've read HUNDREDS of reviews for the Beloved but only a handful for Secrets. I'm just torn and looking for input because for me, the more input the better!

I would go with the Secrets because it is adult only and the Beloved is not. We considered doing one of the Secrets resorts in Mexico (there is a ton) but ended up going with the Valetin Imperial Maya in Riviera Maya.
