Honeymoon baby?

Jennifer, on July 20, 2010 at 3:41 PM Posted in Planning 0 14

FS and I went camping this past weekend with friends and 3 women are pregnant! It was kind of a reality check that we are in that age group of when couples are having babies. We are all in the mid-30's group. FS and I are both 33.

So while laying in the tent, we started talking about babies. Originally, my FS wanted to wait for at least a year after we're married to start trying, but I think after him seeing that all our friends are having families, he started feeling the pressure.

I asked if he wanted to try as soon as after the wedding and he said YES! I told him that I didnt want to have babies later since complications, etc seem to increase since my eggs are shriveling up as I type this. So it looks like we are gonna have to try for a honeymoon baby the night of June 4th, 2011!

Anyone else gonna try having babies ASAP?

Oh...and for those wanting to have babies within the next year or so, are you seeing a doctor NOW to solve any medical conditions or even a dentist to make sure everything is ok there?

I started taking prenatal vitamins...but not because of babies...but because I want to grow out my hair and nails for the wedding...

but now after this weekend, it looks like I'm killing two birds with one stone....

Ya know.....my aunt flo has been mean to me. It was very predictable for about 6 months now but then this last cycle, it was 3 weeks late! I totally freaked out! but she arrived and all is good....

concerning birth control....would it be wise to jump on that now and then get off before we are married? I dont wanna mess with mother nature (was on BC before and I was raging lunatic)..but I dont want any OOPS babies so close to the wedding.....

    thoughts?

I actually went to my Dr. on the 5th and she told me not to change a thing. I'm not on the pill we use other means of protection so thats a plus. She said to just enjoy it and not stress.

I will not try to conceive until after 4-29-11. I want to enjoy my wedding and everything along with it. Therefore I will more than likely see my dentist before.

The reason they say to see the dentist before you get pregnant has to do with the baby taking all your calcium and for some reason it effects your teeth..

I was on the pill for 7 years and went off of it in april. I am getting married in october of this year and we are going to try to have a baby shortly after that. My doc said you should stop taking bc up to 6 months before trying to conceive so you can track your ovulation easier. I also started taking prenatal vitamins for my hair to grow and she said I should be taking that to prepare for getting pregnant. If you are still having sex I would stay on the pill...my FH and I stopped until the wedding, bless his heart! haha. It will be 6 months from the last time we had sex by our wedding night...like born again virgins haha

I want to have a honeymoon baby! I have an IUD and it expires next year so we are going to take the chance and try to have another baby! so exciting! I plan on seeing my doctor soon and getting check and start taking vitamins, since my daughter was born prematurely I want to do a full check and make sure I do everything possible to last the full pregnancy. Good Luck ladies!

We will start trying not long after the wedding. I will be 31 by the time we get married. I am ready for it! But I won't stress or plan it too much. When it happens, it happens. let's just hope not before the wedding! LOL

I initially didn't want to have babies, period, but back in May we had a miscarriage and I realized then how different my life could be.

    .

We are not trying to but definitely be happy if we are blessed. I am 29 and will be 5 months away from 30 by the time of the wedding.

    .

Jennifer O, thank you for the advice, I had not considered that at all (like I said, I was a no babies at all person).

Good luck to all of you and I do hope it works. :-) I LOVED LOVED LOVED being pregnant but with my daughter being 14 and FS having 3 grandchildren, there will be no babies coming from me again. I'm trying to talk him into getting "fixed" and he's all for it. I'll just enjoy and spoil the grandkids. I'm only 34 and I'll be a grandma 3 x's over after the wedding. One day, my baby will have a baby so I'll be a "real blood" grandma.

Well i always wanted to have my first one when i was 25, but i get married when i'm 25 so i would like to be married for a year before we had any babies, but FH says in like 6mons. he talks about babies and i like it. so at least a year, i don't have health insurance, but once we get married and i get it. i'll def be going to the docters to make sure everything is all good.

Beautiful and great information ... I like your way of thinking about wedding.

I want to share here that these women had tubal ligation and who wish to give birth again, then they should not have to worry about ...see Tubal Reversal
