Honeymoon Advice

Yvana, on April 1, 2020 at 6:43 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 11
Hello, my lovelies!
My June wedding has a lot of uncertainty surrounding it. I’m not sure if my wedding will go as originally planned, but I have been conjuring up a plan B. My concern is my honeymoon that has been fully paid off with Carnival Cruise lines. I’m supposed to go on a 6 day cruise on June 21 to Jamaica, Mexico, and Grand Cayman. My step mom told me to wait it out and see what happens and my cousin told me I should postpose because the Princess Cruise-line that was in the news had been cleaned “thoroughly” and when the staff came back on the ship 14 days later they still found coronavirus on the ship’s surfaces. I don’t know what to think. I’m scared that globally we will think we are safe and clear of COVID-19 by the but then get exposed again on board the cruise. My fiancé is immunocompromised. I dont want anything to happen to him....i’m very terrified and very cautious. What do you guys think? What would you do if you were in my shoes?

Our wedding was June 20, 2020 and we rescheduled our wedding until next year. It was driving me crazy trying with all the uncertainties going on. We want to be able to go and enjoy our honeymoon vs having the scare of everything we may touch could possibly harm us. I wouldn’t chance your FH health for something that can be postponed.

Honestly, I would start looking into postponing.

If you can give it a week or two, we might see some shifting in what cruise lines are doing - if you get lucky... they'll do it for you.

Until you said he was immunocompromised, I would've just said to wait and see a little longer, but with that in mind for him, I'd probably be doing everything I could to make sure he would be completely away from as many risks of this disease as I could feasibly do.

Like the others have said because of your husband's health I'd say to wait it out until this things are cleared.

Until you are 100 % sure that you'll not be exposed to the virus on the cruise.

So sorry about this situation...I'm sure it sucks a lot to have been anticipating something so much and to be so excited about it and then for it to be cancelled..or pushed back.

Sending hugs.! please be safe !

    xx

I was with you until you said your fiance was immunocompromised. I would not be traveling at this current moment with as this virus unpredictable. For that reason alone I would postpone.

Carnival is being such a pain about canceling. When I called earlier last week they told me i’ll be penalized for canceling so I should wait until Carnival makes a decision about June cruises. I heard though that on Thursday the CDC stated

The CDC says cruises should be cancelled through mid July so don't worry about it Carnival will cancel/postpone. Make an alternative Honeymoon plan and you can always wait and do that cruise later in the year.

You’re right lovely, they emailed me that our cruise was cancelled. Now My FH and I have to figure out when to postpone it to 🤔. I’m a teacher so I don’t want it to interfere with my job so that really limits the dates.
