We bought a package for our honeymoon and we can choose from the red dot đź”´ locations. So please send some advice on choosing a location. Right now I like the orlando vibe but I want to know more about the other places. THANK YOU!

When are you planning on going (time of year) and what kinds of things do you like to do together? I've visited or lived near a lot of the places on the list and would be happy to give advice if you give me a little more idea of what you're looking for.

My first wedding (this is my second) was in Petoskey, MI, which is right near Boyne Falls. I grew up skiing at Boyne Mountain and Boyne Highlands and absolutely LOVE the area! If you are planning a trip in the summer, it's honestly such a good location!

Of the areas listed, I've lived in New Orleans, Michigan, DC, New Hampshire, Chicago (pretty close to Wisconsin Dells). I've also spent time in the Smoky and Ozark Mountains, Vegas, Arizona, LA, Miami, Orlando, Savannah, and Myrtle Beach.

Well, our wedding is in October 18, 2019 so we are planning on leaving the next morning, I can describe our idea of the honeymoon to be fun with a touch of romance, we are thinking to do fun activities those excursions. We are more of lake, beach lovers, we like camping but want to be a little pamper for the honeymoon.

Cool, so most of the place in the northern part of the country are pretty iffy that time of year. It could be warm and amazing, but it also could snow. Smiley xd Should probably rule out really everything north of Memphis (Williamsburg could be an exception, but that doesn't really seem like your vibe).

You honestly can't go wrong with most of the places list on the water. Savannah is incredibly romantic, and there are great beaches and excursions near (kayaking, for instance). Charleston is pretty similar in that way.

Galveston has some awesome beaches and will offer more of a southern feel than the Florida cities.

New Orleans would be an absolute BLAST that time of year as it's close to Halloween, but it's not really going to offer much in the way of lakes or beaches.

I'm not really familiar with most of the coastal Florida cities aside from Miami, but those would probably be safe bets as well.

Orlando is cool, but it's not really going to give you the beach vibe you're looking for, and IMO wouldn't be the most romantic choice of the ones offered.

    Hope this helps!

I would also suggest New Orleans. I wouldn’t recommend Wisconsin Dells. I’ve been there many times and it’s not a place I would honeymoon at. It’s a tourist trap with nothing really special.

St. Augustine is beautiful! We're actually planning on going to Savannah in October so I don't know anything about that yet.

Arizona is great that time of year. I’m from LA and I’d stay away for your honeymoon, good for vacation though. New Orleans and Virgina are also great - both have beautiful landscapes and that time of year Halloween vibes. I live in Philly and fall is beautiful on the East Coast.

If you’re thinking the southern coast just be careful and buy trip insurance. October is still in hurricane season.

We chose florida for our honeymoon. When selecting, definitely consider resorts venue from airport if you’re flying. Also consider the scene if it’s close to the activities you want. Also, check the average weather for your dates of stay. Also consider getting flights and hotel separately, may be cheaper. Took us a while because we can both be indecisive. But it worked out.

I love Savannah! It has beaches nearby and there's definitely fun stuff to do on the water. It has some beautiful historic buildings and a lot of neat places downtown and on the river. I can't speak to it's weather in October because I've only gone during other parts of the year.

I definitely wouldn't do Florida, maybe do a state you and your FH have never been to before?

I am getting married on Oct 12th here in Jacksonville (or just south) don't Honeymoon here...there is nooooooooooothing to do, I mean beaches yeah...but my normal weekend consists of beach and shore fishing. We are going to the Smokies on Sunday morning after for a week and stopping by the Biltmore. I have been there a million and one times, but my FH has not, so he is excited. As much as I love where I live, there is nothing spectacular about Jacksonville that would be fun to do for a week long or so honeymoon. Congrats! and good luck!!!!!! Now Orlando....I could spend a week or more in Disney, SeaWorld and Universal area haha and would if we had that kind of money.

Maybe I'm biased because we got engaged on our trip to Florida but Orlando is fun and beautiful but it also depends on what time of year you go. If you're into fun and excitement there are all the parks but of course there is a lot of touristy stuff so you may not be into that. St Augustine is stunning and historical. It has a real old world charm and feels very relaxed but with tons to see and do, Charleston and Savannah are similar if that's your thing. I never think you can go wrong in New Orleans but that also depends on when you go.

It really depends on what you're into and when you go. I'm sure you'll have a blast!
