Honeymoon a year later?

Nope, not the only one! We got married in CA and had to immediately drive back to Arlington, VA where my husband was stationed in the Army. We honeymooned a year later in Barbados and I was 3 months pregnant by then.

We just went on our honeymoon this past summer…almost 2 years after we got married. We had the most incredible 20 days. It was well worth the wait (and honestly, ended up being better than it would have been without the pandemic as we were able to save more money in order to splurge).

We are taking a minimoon right after the wedding, then our official honeymoon a year later

We are doing a minimoon starting either the Monday or Tuesday after the wedding. Our official honeymoon is a month later. We waited because our Travel Agent did a group booking for June on the cruise ship, so we were able to upgrade to a private suite for the same cost as the balcony stateroom would have been. Plus, it gives us an extra month to settle down after the big influx of visiting family and friends and various parties we are having AFTER the initial wedding day.

No you not the only one. We took a couple of days after our wedding and a year later we to Mexico for our honeymoon.

No you aren’t the only one although I’m sure our circumstances are different. We are waiting on our official honeymoon because health wise I’m not in the best condition was recently diagnosed with a disability and so everything has been a little different trying to accommodate around me. We plan on doing something the day after the wedding going somewhere for a few days then heading to our new home (out of state for me) & enjoying the rest of his vacation time with my daughter.

View Quoted Comment I agree with you about taking your a year later. Sometimes that is how it works outs and it is the best. Mexico was wonderful and beautiful. We had fun and we did a couple of excursions.

I was literally JUST speaking with my love about this! We'd like to wait to take our honeymoon a year after the wedding. This will give us a chance to save up and celebrate our wedding anniversary at the same time. I'm happy we aren't the only ones thinking of this!
