Honeyfunds

Kimberlynn, on August 28, 2019 at 9:28 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 4
Hey ladies! I'm Kimmie, I'm trying to figure out how to set up our Wedding Registry. To be honest, I have no clue what I'm doing. 😂 We want to do HoneyFund because it lets people give us money for our Honeymoon, but I can't decide what to do. What did you do for your honeymoon? Where did you go? Did you have everything planned out day by day or did you just go with the flow?
Thanks in advance!! 😁❤❤

They honeymoon funds don't really provide you with specific activities. Instead, they just give you the cash--minus administrative fees. You're better off just not having a registry at all. That way, people will give you cash, without the administrative fees.

You're about to get a flood of comments dissing honeyfunds.

I would check out Zola. They let the couple eat the transaction fee, and you can choose various "funds" when really it's all cash to you.

And true, people will just give you money. And true, people will still complain if you dont have a registry. I have an online fund for our future house, registries, and I have a card box ready to go. And I have a cousin who still talking crap about me to all my family for having all those things. I'm considering walking down the aisle with a big red sign that says "what do you people want ?" LOL

No but seriously, no matter what you do SOMEONE will find it rude, tacky, unpleasant, wrong, etc.

Honeyfunds and Homefunds are scams. If you don’t register you get 100% of your gifts. If you make a honeyfund a website gets the opportunity to take a portion of your gift to provide you absolutely no service other than a website with pretty pictures. Geez, you can create a Wix site for free, put pretty pictures, and link it to your Venmo for free 🤷🏽‍♀️

If you want to avoid the credit card fee, you have a few options. You can do a website like Honeyfund or Wanderable where you can give guests the options to pay by credit card on the website or to bring a check or cash or Venmo. What we did was use Zola and then for each item, we added a comment telling guests in order to avoid the credit card fee, we will have a card box for cash or checks or they can Venmo us. For all of these, you can let guests "register" for specific activities or make it generic. So far, people have given us cash or sent money on Venmo. Nobody has sent money over Zola. My friends don't want to pay ridiculous fees either!
