We used Honeyfund and I absolutely LOVE it. I paid for the premium ($30) because I didn't want to deal with ads, and I could add pictures, links, and a slideshow of images. I absolutely love it and would highly recommend it. Their customer service (if you need it) is also pretty good.

We allowed our guests to pay three ways - check by mail or in person, cash in person, or credit card/PayPal. The fee comes out on our end (it's like 3-4% so basically nothing) so that they don't have to pay extra. For example, we got a dinner for two for $50 - they paid $50 via PayPal and we got $48.50 in our account. Simple as that!

We are planning to write Thank You cards (obviously) and include pictures and/or stories of what we did. That way, our guests know that their money didn't go to just anything, but that we actually used it as they intended. It gives them reassurance.

Here's ours if you want to see:

We are using honeymoonwishes.com and like it so far! Sorry I can't tell you how it is after the wedding! It's easy to set up, easy for people to view it and it sounds pretty straightforward on how we get our gifts.

We are using depositagift.com. The set up was really easy, the site is very visually appealing, and the customer service has been great so far!

We researched to no end and decided on HoneymoonPixie.com - as we like their flexibility, especially being able to wire transfer gift money directly into our bank account before the wedding and while we're on our honeymoon. For me, that helps alot. Also, it seems other brides have had excellent experiences with them. Just noticed they got some award from Wedding Wire putting them in the top 5%. So it's worth checking them out: https://www.weddingwire.com/reviews/honeymoon-pixie-redmond/6f79a9c97c11d66e.html

Just did mine! I know some people view it as tacky to ask for money, but I think its a neat idea! I think its neat to have people included on the honeymoon details

Traveler's Joy is awesome. Unlike Honeyfund, our guests don't have to mail in checks or bring them to the wedding. They simply use a credit card to give a gift. Also, there is no upfront $35 fee. We used there Instant Registry system so setting up and personalizing our registry was super easy. I've heard HoneymoonWishes charges gift givers 3.5% on top of the 7% which seems way too high. After reading their real member stories, we were sold!

We just had a great experience with depositagift.com have to 2nd karen about the awesome customer service. i think its the nicest looking/functioning. really easy to setup. gifts are given via credit card. and you can choose who pays the fee, which is different than traveler's joy which has you pay the fee. our guests didn't seem to mind, since its still less than tax/shipping/giftwrap. the other bonus is that you can register for anything, so it's not just relegated to the honeymoon. we also registered for furniture and a new flatscreen, which was a neat way to break up expensive gifts into smaller contribution options. i highly recommend deposit a gift!

It's not just that it's tacky to ask for money. It's also ineffective. If you don't have a registry, people will ask (you, your parents, your wedding party) what you want. So coach those people to say, "They don't really need a lot of household items, but they're saving up for a house [or whatever savings goal]." Then, people will give you money by writing checks, putting cash in a card, or sending money via Paypal. And you won't end up with the fees (or the tackiness) of a money registry.

Ugh. I just typed a big response and lost it!!! Ggrr! Anyway, with honeymoon wishes.com they are partnered with Carnival who is the line we are going on our honeymoon with. We were able to register for excursions, drinks on board, massages, Internet on board. I was fine with doing that. If we don't use all of the funds then they send us a check for the balance.

We're using Deposit a Gift too! What we really like about it is that we can add options other than just our honeymoon. So we registered for all the honeymoon stuff like plane tickets, hotel, food/drink, but we also could put on some other stuff, because we're also saving up to redo our kitchen. A lot of my friends and family told me how much they appreciated all the options and how much they loved being able to give a gift more special than something like china.

We're using Honeymoon Pixie, as well. It's been great so far, and their registries look really nice. The customer service is also excellent - they've been super helpful and nice. We have a ways to go before our wedding and honeymoon, so I'm just kind of playing around with the site for now, but it's really fun to look at their pre-made registries (which you can personalize!) to get an idea of what we might like to put on our final registry!

I initially looked into honeyfund but the website is so messy- there's ads, and it's hard to navigate. I am looking into honeymoonwishes now. They have a higher fee but your non-tech savvy guests can call in and buy an experience, or call for customer service help, and their website is much cleaner - no ads!- making it much easier to navigate. For some people they don't mind the ads but I know I will be having to work with the site over the next eight months and those ads will drive me up a wall. Also, you can create a wedding website in addition to your registry making it seem more about the couple and less about the registry. Also, we set up another registry with Bed Bath and Beyond for those guests who want to give traditional gifts. I think we have struck a nice balance.
