Hmua?

Every HMUA I reached out to for my wedding day was about $300 and that was the low end and that was in the Keys. Our wedding is 10/10 - which apparently is also a "holiday" weekend so they wanted to charge extra for that, then extra because my request was for "after hours" (Early morning 6 am). Ultimately I decided the cost isn't worth the time it would require to do my HMU along with the time it would be in use for.

I've fiddled with makeup my whole life in fact most people always ask me to do theirs so, I'm trusting my instincts and doing my own for the big day.

That’s pretty average pricing, at least in my area.
I looked up HMUA on the vendor tab on WeddingWire, on google by typing wedding hairstylist or makeup artist and also looking on Instagram with the hashtag #(mycity)makeup or #(mycity)hair

I found my girl here on WeddingWire vendors and she was amazing. The pricing you are getting is normal but shop around a bit.
