H/MUA Prices!!

Is this quote just for you or does it include others in your bridal party? My quote for just me is roughly 175 for hair and makeup for just me. But the total goes up when I add in bridal party and the travel fee. Not sure where you are located but that can affect the price as well.

Just for me. The bridal party prices are about $180, so my girls decided on doing their own makeup. That's what I was thinking too, I am located in Los Angeles.

That depends on where you are. Mine is $200 for both (not including a trial, which was $125). I'm in central VA.

I'm in Atlanta and my HMU is $250 then $50 travel fee for her to come to my venue

@pinkflamingo the quotes I have been getting include the trial and travel so I guess it isn't too bad. I just want to make sure I'm not getting ripped off you know?

Mine quoted $190 for makeup and $320 for hair just for me, but that is with a travel fee. It's insane.

@stacey that's what I'm saying, especially since I don't wear makeup, like the pricing is crazy to me! That's why I want to make sure the quotes I'm getting are within reason.

That seems like a lot for just day of hair and makeup. Does it include a trial? That would make more sense.

@Alison oh my goodness, that's a lot but at least I know that at $400 I'm not getting ripped off. The quotes I've been getting include trial and travel. I kind of figured it would depend on the area because it's so expensive living in CA lol!

I'm near the Los Angeles area also and I am paying about $425 for just me. Pricing of course goes up if you plan on doing extensions. Bridesmaid start anywhere from $130-$175. So your pricing sounds about right.

Wow really? I feel so much better now, I was thinking $400 is alot but if that's the average then I'll probably book today. I've been holding it off because I keep thinking it'll be cheaper somewhere else but that hasn't been the case lol! Thank you for your response !

If that includes travel and trial, definitely a good price!

I'm a HMUA, and if you go cheap you will get cheap. It is worth it, if you wear nothing you won't show up in your photos. Also, don't tell your makeup artist that you don't want to look made up. You say you either want classic, glam or a mix. When you look in the mirror you will look made up, but your photos will look beautiful.

@andi thank you for your response and the tip, because I would have definitely said it's too much makeup since I don't wear any lol!

I am paying $350 for my hair and makeup and it included my trial. For the BM's it is $150 for hair and makeup. We also are paying a $100 travel fee since her and her assistant are coming in from a couple hours away.

I actually found a place that is charging that exact amount, so I guess I'm within the realistic price range !

I found a gal to do my hair for 75. And another 75 for makeup. I found her on thumbtak.
