Hiring a last minute videographer

Marissa, on August 4, 2020 at 11:50 AM Posted in Planning 0 11

So I recently just now decided I wanted to hire a videographer last minute lol. Part of the reason is because of covid. Since we recently had to cut our guest list way down to just immediate families and wedding party, I'm still heartbroken and sad our other guests cannot join us in person to celebrate. 😔 Even though we will be live streaming the ceremony, I now want a nice 4k quality video for our guests to enjoy too. (Also in case the quality of the Facebook live stream turns out bad because of the cell service).

Recently I got a quote from a videographer for $400. This includes 2 hours of filming 3-5PM (ceremony is at 4PM), and will be a full ceremony video + getting ready & romantics footage. It will come with 2 videographers, 4k video quality, and drone footage! Good deal? Should I do it?

That's an amazing offer. I would definitely check their reviews because that almost sounds too good to be true.

That is a way better deal than anything I've seen for videography!

I know right?! They have good reviews and I spoke with them on the phone last night. They offered me 2 other package prices, but this was their cheapest one. So they're legit! I think we're gonna do it!

I say go for it! My husband didn't think a videographer was necessary, but it was really important to me. I love our wedding video.

I would go for it. I looked into it last minute as well (also covid-related) and I was told $650 for 2 hours and only one videographer. That was a bit much for us, so we didn't do it. My brother attempted to Facebook Live it, but it froze at the exact second the photographer stepped between us and the camera... see the picture below 🙄 You can always ask someone to video it on their phone and save that. It won't be professional quality, but it is better than nothing which is what I ended up with lolHiring a last minute videographer 1

Yes I did! They have videos on their website, and they have actually filmed a wedding at our venue before! 😊

Yeah that's what I'm worried about with Facebook Live. Our ceremony location won't have any wifi, and is in a rural area, so we have to rely on cell data for the livestream. I just have a feeling the quality won't be good lol. Thanks for sharing your experience! I'm glad you ended up with something! Either way I'm sure your day was beautiful! Congratulations!!!

Dude! That is so awesome! That’s amazing compared to the prices I’m being charged. This may sound crazy but we actually opted out of getting a photographer and we have a cinematographer instead. We get 6 to 8 hours of raw footage and then the 5 minute highlight video of course. I totally agree with you when you say that a videographer is a must!
