High heels during wedding?

Jocelyn, on September 11, 2019 at 5:10 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 16
Did any brides have trouble wearing their heels during the whole wedding? Are there any brands you would recommend? I'm a bit clumsy and since my dress is tailored for exactly a 3 inch heel I won't be able to change into flats later on since its pretty long and big.

I wore a wedge and had zero issues. I tested my shoes out at my shower just to see how they’d feel after a few hours. My heel was shorter than yours though. I also wear heels to work most days, so it isn’t unusual for me to be in dress shoes for 8 hours.

Depending on budget this may or may not be helpful advice, but personally I find a high quality better made shoes to be more comfortable. This obviously varies a lot by brand and your foot, and sometimes even the actual shoe. So for example target is likely to be more uncomfortable than Nine West. Also make sure whatever you get you spend time breaking in, especially if it’s leather.

My dress is tailored to 5 in heels so I bought a second dress to wear to the reception and a pair of sandals to go with it

I wore wedges and had no trouble at all! They are way easier to navigate than spiked heels in my opinion lol

I’m wearing 2.5” block heels from Nine West. Block heels are popular right now so there’s a lot of choices out there. They’re also much more comfortable than stilettos.

Hi! I love the brand Naturalizer. They have a lot of heels that are comfortable. I actually own 4 of them (2 in the same style but in different colors lol). Famous Footwear always has sales for this brand. I think right now they have a bogo 50% deal. The ones I got were platforms and wedges. Wedges are pretty comfy. I wore the style Cameron for the brand Naturalizer for my friends wedding and my bridal shower and at the end of my night my feet felt fine. Usually with any heels over 2.5 inches my feet are sore. Plus at my friends wedding we danced a lot.

I wore Benjamin Adams wedding shoes (a British shoe designer) and my heel height was 3.25. These shoes are so comfortable that I was able to wear them from noon until midnight and danced all night in them. They are on the pricey side but so worth it!

God bless all of you. I was adamant about wearing flats the whole time. I’m a nurse I wear pajamas aka scrubs and sneakers to work. I look like a newborn fawn in heels. I highly admire the girls who can rock heels!!

I am currently having the same dilemma and worried about wearing mine all night. But my dress is tailored to wear I have to wear a 3 1/2 inch heel. I have the perfect shoes and I love them but I don’t wear heels all that often other than at work where I sit most of the day. I was told to wear them around the house a lot and break them in/get used to them. Also I’ve heard that taping your 3rd and 4th toe together helps with pain. I don’t know how and I haven’t tried it but it’s worth a shot.🤷🏼‍♀️

I would suggest getting heals during your wedding or flats.. during the reception I’m getting all my girls flip flops that match their dresses and me too so we don’t have to worry about dancing in heels!

I wear heels a lot, so here’s a few tips:
    1. The thicker the heel, the more comfortable you’ll be. Someone else recommended a block heel, and I second that.
    2. Buy your heels a half-size up from your normal size. You’re going to be on your feet all day, and your feet are bound to swell.
    3. Buy your shoes ASAP and break them in. Wear them all around the house, all the time. They’ll soften up, and you’ll get used to them.
    4. Put padding at the balls of your feet, because that’s where all your weight is going to land.
    5. Tape your 3rd and 4th toes together. I don’t know why it helps, but it does 😂

Sofft shoes were made for people that are on their feet. They have padded leather insoles. Also, I find Clark's pretty comfortable

Omg good luck to you! My dress is tailored to 2” so I’ll be able to stand by the end of the night. I’m probably going to get a block heel or wedge for comfort (I wanna dance all night) and photos (outdoors in a field).

I'm a badgley mischka fan. I went with a 2.5 inch heel and they're comfy. The feather wedge from them was my other top contender. Here's a pic - these might be 3 inches, not sure.

I got wedge pumps from Aerosoles, and they're super comfy. It's a brand that I think of as valuing comfort over style, but they have some pretty cute classic looks that cover both bases.
