High-end comfortable shoes for the wedding

LovelyLovely, on March 16, 2017 at 2:14 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 20

Hi ladies,

I'm thinking of which shoes to wear for the wedding. I do not own too many designer shoes, but the ones I own are looking not-so-fresh and I think I need (do we ever not?) a pair of fresh heels. I have few Ferragamo and Louis Vuitton shoes - Ferragamo is comfy to me, where as the LVs are too narrow and stiff. Currently, I'm debating between Jimmy Choo or Prada. Does anyone have experience with these shoes with any size or style recommendations? Please let me know of any other shoes I can look into, thank you!

EDIT: I have chubby feet and do better with wide shoes... which the designers NEVER think of Smiley sad

I don't wear designer shoes, but there are lots of youtubers that do. Maybe go watch some designer shoe collection videos and see if they have any tips!

I'm getting Badgley Mischka heels for the ceremony, but got some Kate Spade keds for the reception. Not sure how "high end" it's considered but it's high end enough for me lol. Attached is a picture of the Kate Spades.

Ooh, thank you for the recommendations Smiley smile I will look into Badgley Mischka as well. I used to work luxury retail for a long time, so the brand I used to work for (Louis Vuitton) and its competitors were what I considered 'high-end'. And that's why I have billions of LV shoes, because I didn't pay full price xD

Hey Lady Shoes are custom made wedding shoes. They are supposed to be amazingly comfortable.

I am considering the Jimmy Choo flats. I have wide feet as well and designers do not take that into account. I am going to go to a department store that sells most designers and try on a bunch of options. My sister in law swears by her Louboutins and Gucci heels

I have found the Jimmy Choo shoes I own to be less comfortable than more "middle" level shoes. I am wearing Kate Spade heels (about 2") for my wedding, but most of my work heels are Kate Spade, Stuart Weitzman or Cole Haan. I can usually wear any of those 3 brands all day long, so looked at those for my wedding, and ended up with the Kate Spade (Stuart Weitzman were a close second).

@Bethyonce - I tried going to their website, but it's not loading Smiley sad I did hear that custom made shoes are VERY comfortable. I may go that route, depending on the style. Thanks!

@Keisha - I've looked into Louboutins on the Saks Fifth Ave website, but I've heard so many stories on how they are SO uncomfortable, so I gave up Smiley sad

I custom made mine - Shoes of Prey - they were GREAT! I had Toms for dancing as a backup.

@kmd0506 - I've heard Stuart Weitzman is comfy too! I've never tried on Kate Spade shoes... maybe I should go try it at the mall. It's a bummer that you find Jimmy Choos to be meh, that was the brand I was leaning most towards Smiley sad

@KSera - I think I've looked into Shoes of Prey before briefly... But I don't think I have enough time to have it ordered and shipped to me! 1 month to go!

Stuart Weitzman shoes are great, but they are super narrow. I think they come in wide width though.

I am wearing Jimmy Choos, which are my favorite. I have tiny feet (size 35 or 5) and they fit true to size. I also have Manolo Blahniks and a pair of Louboutins, and Jimmy Choo are by far them most comfy of the three to me.

Try LK Bennett also. They're a British brand, and Kate Middleton loves them Smiley smile I have 2 pair of pumps and they're relatively comfortable, but I'd size up 1/2 a size in them. Hopefully this helps!

I LOVE @FutureMrsWelch's idea with the Keds! I'm thinking lace or sparkly Toms for my reception.

I found the Benjamin Adams heels I ordered to be incredibly comfortable. I was walking laps around my parents' house when they arrived and shouting that they were like little clouds for my feet and that I was now in love with British shoes.

@LovelyLovely- that is just my experience, I don't want to scare you off if that is what you are set on. I know plenty of people that love Jimmy Choos, but their heels just don't work for me. (for what it's worth Cole Haan are probably the most comfortable to me, they just didn't have any styles that worked as wedding shoes...and Kate Spade had really cute blue sparkly heels that I love).

Louboutin's.. The most painful $800 shoes I've ever worn! However, I've recently starting doing that show hack of wrapping up your third and fourth toe from the big toe with a band-aid on both feet and it helps relieve a LOT of presssure off the ball of your foot.

I got these Cole Haan heels for $80! I was into them because I wanted Navy, and they use Nike sneaker technology, so comfy.

Personally, I love my Louboutins for going to dinner with a valet service and minimal walking lol . They're (at least the styles I have) not comfortable at all. Jimmy Choos are by far the most comfortable designer heel I own and I'm pretty sure I'm going to go for a nice simple pair of jimmy choos for my wedding. (For reference I am a size 8, chubby feet as well!)

Honestly it all depends on what style shoes you like, the material, height and your pain tolerance level. I'm actually really good with height and pain tolerance, only thing I have troubles are any shoes that are patent leather. It takes long time for me to get used to them (after they stretch) or I just buy half size bigger. Obviously any high heels with pointed toe would be uncomfortable, which is why a lot of people can't wear CLs too long. My FH proposed to me with the hangisi in 90mm which I love but due to having outdoor ceremony I ended getting another one in the flat version. Any quality shoes with good leather and padding on the soles, more of a rounded toe or open straps with not too thin heels you'll be good.
