Hiding rolls

Mary, on June 27, 2019 at 2:20 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 22
Hey guys, I have a question. I have not yet visited a seamstress so I don’t know options that way but I love my dress there’s one little part I don’t love. The way my belly sits in it. I have attached a picture. What would be your best guess to hiding my belly roll?! Note: I do have spanx on in this picture.

Have you tried shapewear, that covers your stomach area? I have a ton of boning in my dress so it acts as a sewn in corset, so those are two other options too! You look super classy, I love your dress!

I do have shapewear on in the picture! Thank you though. It was $166 lol I’m in love. I’ll have to keep looking or maybe have the seamstress sow something in.

So I had one of those like bra things you get from David’s (the structured one) and it showed through my dress. Anything that isn’t smooth shows. If you have a link maybe I don’t have any idea of what that is.

The problem is any corsets I see all have hook and eye in the front. When it’s put on, the fabric on the dress will show the corset itself because the fabric is so thin. The shapewear I have on in the picture comes about mid thigh to all the way up under my bust.

Is that the jones dress from BHLDN? If so that's what I wore for my wedding. I would get a seamstress to sew the seams of the skirt lining and dress together at least halfway down. I saw pics of others in this dress and the lining and dress would move and it wouldn't look nice. I did that and it was perfect. I don't have any specific advice in regards to the shapewear. I just wore a shaping short. You look great!

All are mentioning about corsets but I think you understand first hand how they can show though the fabric. I’m so serious when I say I might just result to plastic cling wrap.

Haha that might make you really hot! But idk maybe you could use athletic tape in a similar way. I have no clue though. But yes everything shows through! I bet you could google something and find some kind of video on YouTube of people using body tape...they do it for boobs, why not stomach?

    Well
    1. I actually think you fantastic! It's a very nice dress
    2. Depending on what you want the silloette to be like there's slips that go under the dress and kind of poof it out so it'd have a more tapered shape and kind of go around the belly. But if you want the more tight look it'll be a bit hard.
Also people have been known to pass out from cling wrap, and break ribs using ace bandages, I'd be very hesitant to do either of those.
