Hello everyone!
I'm a 31 italian bride-to-be and I reached you from the italian website of this web group (www.matrimonio.com)
In the italian forum lot of people are worried about the future weddings due to the covid situation, even who planned the wedding in August/September but in this forum I don't see any particular alarm.
I'd like to share our Italy/US experiences as "brides in covid times" and I would ask you: how is the situation in the US for weddings and covid? Are you calm enough for your wedding organization? Has the government already let you know the protocols you have to follow for weddings?
In Italy we started the vaccination only for medical workers and for elderly people older than 80, we'll start to vaccinate even the policemen, army soldiers, firemen, and so on, they don't talk about range people 18-79 and probably on March 5th the government will let us know how to handle the next events which include theatres, cinemas, restaurants, discos,... Each italian region can be classified in a color of contagion danger: Yellow (very low danger, we can move into our region without permission), Orange (medium risk of contagion, we can move into our city of residence without permission but cannot go in a next city or in other regions) and Red (High risk of contagion, we cannot go out of our homes except for groceries, for going to the doctor or going to work, with an auto-declaration of where we are going to). Every 1-2 weeks the government changes the color; in Milan, where I live, we are actually yellow, but we'll probably turn in orange next week.
My future husband and I planned our wedding on July 31st 2021 after we postponed from May 30th 2020: we are sure that we'll get married but we don't know how many people the government would admit (last year for these kind of events we could only have 30 guests, photographs, videomakers, wedding planner included: it meant to have a very small number of family members and friends , in fact a lot of couple postponed the wedding!)
I'd like to be also reassured from all brides overseas, even if our situations are really different (I think you are handling the pandemic in a very good way)...
Thank you in advance and sorry if I made some grammar mistake!
