Herbs instead of flowers...

Brandi, on August 23, 2019 at 12:49 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 5
After getting a few different quotes on flowers, I cannot justify spending so much money on something so temporary. Our ceremony space is in front of floor to ceiling windows facing downtown, so we won't be having an arch or any decor there. I have considered having small potted herbs as centerpieces, but I don't know what I would use for a bouquet. Would it be strange to carry a bouquet of flowers when there are only potted herbs on the tables? Any suggestions are welcome!

I should also add that we are having a small wedding with about 40 guests in a private room at a downtown restaurant, so there is not much to decorate other than the tables.

You could always do potted flowers so it matches your bouquet better but hey herbs are awesome, guests would be begging to take them home and use them!
We aren’t using these for our centerpieces but we are doing potted flowers for our guest table, we’re going with these most likely, only $10, depends if they’re still blooming next month.

I thought about something like that, with our wedding colors. Are you going to transplant them into other pots or vases for the centerpieces, and if so, what are your thoughts on that?

We’re going to look for more decorative vases for sure, those black plastic holders are just ugly. At the end of the night our gardening-happy older guests get to take them home. I haven’t looked at vases yet, probably will find something at the craft store.

I think potted herbs would look really cute! I've also seen bouquets that are entirely baby's breath, they look really simple and elegant to me!

We are not doing any floral decor at all. We have the bouquets and boutonnières and that’s pretty much it. We also are getting them from a local grocery store and got an amazing deal. I would check with your local one and see what they can do. Or else the potted plants suggested above are cute.
