Helping picking out a veil!

Helping picking out a veil! 1
I need help picking out a veil please! With the back of this dress being so beautiful, do I even wear a veil? I also feel a veil completes the “bridal look”. If i get one I probably will get a waist length one. But do I try to find one with lace edges? That may be hard to match the lace in the dress. Or do I go with something simple, that has pearls or plain tulle?!

Probably get a finger-tip veil with lace edging. It helps to have the edges stand out. If you want to try a different look, consider a mantilla, maybe with the same detail of the finger-tip veil. Those should let the dress lace remain prominent too.

An aspect that could affect your choice would be if you want to have photos that use the veil prominently.

Oh, that’s such a beautiful back! I’d hate to cover that up. Maybe a birdcage veil, where it’s around your hair only? Or you could wear a veil for the ceremony only and take it out for the reception.

Former bridal stylist here! My two cents are to go either with a chapel length ( slightly longer than the train of the dress), or a cathedral length (longer by a foot). You can also have two veils layering each other: One that is around knee length, and the other being cathedral for an elegant look.

Your dress is on the traditional side, and I feel that by going too short, it would take away from the effect of seeing a regal, traditional dress.

If you do have a veil with lace, it needs to match the lace of your dress as closely as possible.

Please, please, please, do not go with a veil with "stretchy" netting as these veils are usually made from cheaper materials and actually obscure either your dress details, or your face, if you are wearing a "blusher" (front veil). Veils should me made from tulle with a very fine, but "stiffer" netting with teeny-tiny holes.

It might be a good idea to take a picture of you trying on veils in both natural light, and in the bridal shop with as close to the lighting as you will have in your venue to see just how much detail of your dress it covers up.

Ooh, agreed about the long veil! Then the back could be kinda peek a boo-ish and it would give off princess vibes!

Thank you everyone for all of your in put! I went with a simple chapel length, it’s very sheer one layer. So you can still clearly see the back of the dress! Sorry for the late thank you’s. Your opinions really helped!!
