Help!

Hi!

Recently had a really bad experience with our photography/videography company. Before we booked this company, communication was great. Once they got their 50% deposit, the communication dwindled. I felt like I had to follow up a number of times to even get our engagement shoot set up. The photographer didn’t even confirm a time or location with us. I had to reach out to confirm the day before. The day of the shoot, I texted her to see if we can go to a second location and do an outfit change. She said no, the shoot is only for an hour and we won’t have time. I replied with a screen shot of my contract saying it’s supposed to be 1.5 hours with an outfit change. She then asked me to call her. I called her and she proceed to tell me that the company that hired her, practically begged her to do my shoot and didn’t give her all the details of my contract. She then told me how she’s not getting enough for this and that the company is a mess when it comes to communication. She told me she was leaving the company and that she wouldn’t even be my photographer on the day of my wedding as the company told me she would. I’m furious as I’ve lost all trust in this company to film and shoot my biggest day ever. I had my makeup and hair done, ready to go only to be cancelled on an hour before our shoot.
I want me $3600 deposit and want to book another company. However, they won’t give me it back bc it’s nonrefundable and they feel like they didn’t break the contract.
What do I do?!

    Talk to a lawyer.
Give them awful reviews on any wedding website, lol. Start in ALL CAPS

I am so so sorry you’re going through this. And also - for advice; don’t book videographer and photographer through same company.

I agree. Once a lawyer gets involved, they will give the money back. They technically broke the contract when the photographer changed the length of the engagement shoot.
