Help with wording for remembrance flowers

michelle, on May 27, 2012 at 11:19 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 2

Good evening!

Ok so my FH's parents are both deceased, my moms parents and her sister are also deceased. So for FH's oldest sibling, I want to give her 2 white roses in remembrance of their parents and 3 white roses to my mother in remembrance of my grandparents and aunt.

I never met my FH's parents therefore I am having a hard time trying to come up with some sort of poem or saying to put on the tag for his sister. His family is highly religious and his father was a minister when he was alive.

The tag for my mother's flowers will be a bit easier since well it is my mother....however I will take suggestions for that too as i may like your idea better!

Has or is anyone else in the same situation, if so what are you doing? If not, do you have any suggestions for wording?

Thanks for your help!!

    Hi Michelle ~ Welcome to WW

    Maybe take lines from here? Or the Whole thing?

    Although we cannot see you,

    We know that you are here.

    We feel the warmth of your smile,

    And can sense that you are near.

    And we want for you to know,

    Your love is still our guide,

    Memories carried in our hearts,

    You are always at our side.

    It's so sad you will not be here,

    On the day we say "I do",

    And so we say our vows today,

    In loving memory of you.

    Although we can not see you

    We know you are here

    Smiling down,

    Watching over us,

    As we say "I Do."

    You will always stay

    Forever in our lives,

    Memories in our hearts,

    We will think of you in silence

    As we say our vows today.

    or

    modify this one?

    Dear Lord please clear a spot for him:

    he should have the perfect view.

    His little girl's a Bride today,

    and I am counting on you.

    Let me feel his presence;

    as I journey down the aisle.

    But let me notice his abscence;

    if only for a while.

    Let me stop to think of him;

    As I am given away.

    And know that if he could;

    he would be here with me today.

    Dear Lord please clear a spot for him;

    he should have the perfect view.

    And if he should get sad today;

    Dear Lord I count on you.
