Help!! Wedding invitation misprint!!

Leah, on August 19, 2014 at 3:23 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 14

Invitations were sent out with the wrong time of the ceremony!!! I'm freaking out!!

What is the proper way to tell the guests the different time? Should I send out a little card with the correct time and apologize for the mistake? I need to fix this fast! Wedding is Oct 11th. Thanks

I would do a card. If you have a lot of guests especially. You could call but they might forget.

I would suggest making phone calls. You can get something printed but you can't guarantee they get it unless you have them send back another RSVP card.

How big is your guest list? Can your mom and FMIL call your guests and you and your MOH let your friends know?

Oh no!! I'd do a few things:

    1. Call/text/facebook everyone letting them know of the mistake and correct time

    2. Go to your local printing company and print off corrected times and mail them out ASAP

    3. Was it a mistake your invitation company made? Contact them and get some type of credit back on your account, or some type of gift card. SOMETHING!

    Goodluck!

Agree with all of the above, send a card but start a phone tree. Tell each relative you talk to, to remind others as well. In case someone doesn't get the card with the right time.

Is the time really off? Or early? Or late?

If the time is only off by a half hour or hour - why not consider actually having your ceremony at that time instead?

What should the proper wording be on the card?

Invitation says 3 but want to change it to 4:30. 3:00 is just too early.

Please note the wedding of Mr. and Mrs. begins promptly at 4:30 p.m. Please ignore the alternate start time on the invitation as they were misprinted. We look forward to seeing you there!

Wait, were the invites misprinted or printed correctly but now you want to change after the fact?

It was always supposed to be 4:30. The template for the invitation said 3. Just never got changed.

Gotcha. I'd go with mailing out a quick postcard and calling as many people as you can. And if you have a lot of guests at a hotel, maybe the hotel can have a little flyer at check in and/or you can post one in all the elevators?

I would follow up with every person that RSVP's yes-(Are they RSVPing with cards? Or are they RSVPing via a website?)...no need to tell those that said no.
