Help!! Venue for $1000 or less?? Ar, Tx, or Ok.

Skye, on August 28, 2018 at 2:18 PM Posted in Planning 0 9

Hello!

My fiancé and I are looking to get married May 18, 2019. We don’t have a set state, yet... because I‘m currently looking for the venue. Pretty much anywhere in Texas, Oklahoma, or Arkansas is where we are searching. Central South. We don’t mind traveling (especially to Texas) for the venue. I have found a few, but not many within our budget. We’re trying to keep the entire wedding cost around 5K. Keeping everything within budget is very important to us. Him and I are mostly on our own when it comes to the expenses of the wedding. So we have to keep everything pretty cheap for the most part.. but I’m really trying hard not to let the money get in the way of quality. I’m looking for places we can rent for at or under $1000 and that allows alcohol. Ideally, I’d like to keep ceremony & reception rent, alcohol, and food under $3000. Closed bar or byob is ideal. Time is crunching down on me, I appreciate any help or advice given.

Maybe, a state park with a potluck or cheap food truck would work?

Check out any of the State Parks. They usually have nice buildings that let you bring in your own alcohol and catering (so it'd be cheaper for that stuff)

I'd check all-inclusive places, they're usually the most affordable (at least in the areas I was looking in). State parks as pp said are also usually cheap to rent out, but then you usually have added costs of facilities and whatnot if they're not on-location already.

    Hey,
I live in Oklahoma and we are haveing our Ceromoy and reception at Hat Top Mesa in Velma Oklahoma. It’s actually a hunting lodge but they recently started renting it out as a venue. It’s on I believe 400 acres of land so you can do pretty much anything. You should check it out.

Same budget for us! We went with our local planetarium, which was significantly cheaper than traditional wedding venues. We also considered local parks, public gardens, beaches, and museums (some of which were FREE to use) . For the reception, you can always rent an event tent with ac/heat and put it nearly anywhere. I'm not going to encourage the cash bar however... you can have a cheaper open bar by hiring a bartender only, then supply your own choice of drinks.

I never thought about renting an event tent!! I don’t know where I’d rent one from.. but that’s still an amazing idea!

I just assumed closed bars bars were the cheaper route.. is it really cheaper to have an open bar? I have family or friends on hand that could bartend for cheap!

If you’re having a small guest count look at Chapel Dulcinea (Texas Austin area). It’s a free venue for ceremony and then go to a restaurant for reception.
