Help! Roles for a teen girl

Lucy, on January 24, 2015 at 10:17 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 6

FH has 3 kids, 2 boys and 1 girl. Too old for FG/RB but too young for BM/GM in my opinion. We are doing a sand ceremony with all of them. We also decided to have the boys escort the moms down the aisle. So now we need to figure something out for the girl to do. She's so shy and in no way will she be a reader or greeter. So what is another idea that we can have her do?

If she is shy - too shy to even be a greeter - then maybe she should not be pushed to do anything "extra". When my FSIL got married her H made his son - who was 9 at the time - be the "best man" and "give a speech" that H wrote. The kid was so embarrassed that he actually ran off immediately after he was prodded into giving the speech.

She could do the job as a greeter like handing out programs and stuff. She just wouldn't say a word. Idk if shy is the best way to describe her.. Maybe awkward? She would be able to walk down the aisle for example, because it doesn't require communicating. She doesn't mind being in front of people, just talking in front of people is more the problem I guess.

Depending on her exact age you could make her a Jr.Bridesmaid. That's what I am doing with my cousin who I am really close with. It helps keep them included in the ceremony but they don't have to do much.

How old is she? Dont think she would necessarily be too young to be a bridesmaid, she doesnt have to get involved in all aspects. My sister will be 13 when I get married and she will be a bridesmaid Smiley smile

She's 13. I'm just reluctant to make her a jr bm because when I was about that age, I was a jr bm in my aunt's wedding and it was so weird and awkward lol
