Generally, 1-2 weeks before your final numbers are due to your vendor. For most caterers, that's a week or two before the event date, so RSVP date is 3-4 weeks before event date. Try not to go much earlier than that or it makes it hard for guests to give you a reliable answer because their schedules are uncertain (especially so close to Christmas). Good luck!

Find out when your vendors need their final headcounts by and set the date a week or two before then. This will give you time to follow up with those who didn't respond.

I think general rule of thumb is to have RSVPs due at least a week before your final headcounts need to be in. I don't know when that is for you, but just looking at the calendar I would say probably sometime the week of November 17th?

I asked for all RSVP’s one month prior to my date. You will have to give a final count several days ahead and maybe an estimated count a week or so in advance and it seems you always have to chase a few people for responses. 😊

I put the rsvp date as a week before my final head count is due to the venue. Also, vistaprint is having 40-50% off right now! Just got my invites and rsvp cards from there and saved sooooo much money!!! (Saved over $150, only spent $92!)

I did mine 4 weeks before the wedding. My caterer needs a final head count 1-2 weeks before so that gives us about 2 weeks to contact anyone who hasn't sent their RSVP back yet.

Our wedding was August 11th. Our final count was due to the venue on July 28th but it was due to our florist on July 11th. We didn't realize (or we forgot) that our florist headcount was due so early, so we put our RSVP date as July 6th. Fortunately, our florist extended it to the 15th for us which gave us enough time to round up the RSVPs that weren't mailed back to us. So my advice is to check all our contacts first (especially florist/food/booze/venue/rentals basically anything that depends on a headcount) and see when the earlier headcount is due, and put the RSVP date at least 1 week before that date so you have time to chase RSVPs down.

Our date is 8/8/19 and our RSVP date is 7/14/19. We have lots of OOT and our restaurant asked for a heads up end of July. Go by what your vendors and venue ask for the heads up, then bump it back a week or two so you have time to track down the non RSVPers

I am one that likes to do things early so I would definitely pick a date in October, because trust me people will drag their feet until the last second and then after that as well. Tip is to not put the location on the invite so that people don't just take the invite as a no need to RSVP type of thing. I wish I had done that because so many people confirmed they were coming that did not RSVP and just didn't seem like they were planning on it either. LOL. I called and they were like well of course we are coming. Its like....oook. Were you planning on RSVPing or just showing up or? LOL. Nice invites by the way~

Our date is December 7th and we're asking for RSVPs to be in by October 15th. A couple of our vendors are asking for counts by November 1st, so we wanted to give ourselves time to hunt down procrastinators.

As mention to the others you should give yourself a week or two before you need to turn in your final head count to catering, venue and rentals. You want to give yourself that extra time to hunt people.

Considering your date, I'd be giving a lot of extra time if I were you. Holidays make people forget things, after all, and RSVPs already tend to get forgotten as it is. I'm hoping to send mine out in the next week or two, and my wedding is in September. I of course also have guest coming from out of state/country, another reason to invite early.

I took advantage of the same Ann’s Bridal Bargains sale! We’re not getting married til Leap Day next year, but I couldn’t pass up getting 200 invitations & RSVP postcards for $147 (including shipping)! I ordered everything last Monday, and they came in last Thursday!

Our RSVP date was 40 days out. We needed to finalize our transportation 30 days out. Typically it's 25-35 days out.

I went with RSVP 5 weeks before the wedding. So for me, it's August 31st- RSVPs will be sent out the first week of August, giving everyone 4 weeks to respond.
