Help! Outdoor Ceremony - Wedding Attire

Bryana, on November 12, 2020 at 5:31 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8
I'm trying to figure out a nice, concise way of including the following pieces of information on the insert for the invitation.

Our January wedding ceremony will be taking place outdoors. We live in Texas so the weather is always unpredictable. It could range anywhere from the low 30s to high 50s. The ceremony will be at 4:00 PM (before it starts getting too cold) and we are keeping it short and simple.
I do not want to say, "This will be an outdoor ceremony so dress accordingly."
I want to make sure that our guests are dressed comfortably but I also don't want them to wear something so warm that they get too hot during the reception.
I want to remind them to bring sweaters, jackets, ect. for the ceremony.
(I will be putting it on the insert card for the invitation.)I just don't know how to word it.
I know that I'm probably overthinking this, but any wording suggestions would be a big help!

I appreciate any ideas or suggestions that y'all have!

Are most of your guests local? That is, will they be familiar with January weather there? I honestly think, "There will be an outdoor ceremony with indoor reception, so please dress accordingly" will be fine. People understand dressing in layers, needing coats outside, and taking them off inside.

Most are local. Some are coming from out of state.

On the details insert say: Temperatures can range from x to y. Please layer accordingly for the ceremony.

I think this might be something to put on your wedding website instead of an invitation.

I agree that it should go on the website. It’s too important to have on the invitation and it also falls under the information category. People usually just throw away the invitation after they have all the details or realize there is a wedding website with all the information.

Maybe for your out of town guests you can put a little insert, “FYI, the weather here can be a little bit cold so make sure you bring a thick jacket!” or something like that.

I would put this on your wedding website. We stated on our website that the ceremony and reception would be outdoors. Granted, we got married in October so it was neither hot nor cold. If it is in the 30's on your wedding day, I would recommend moving it indoors so your guests don't freeze.
