Help!! My engagement ring hurts???

Kylie, on July 30, 2019 at 2:45 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 9
Hey guys,

I just got engaged this past Saturday, and my ring is already hurting me. And by hurting me, I should clarify that the sizing is perfect and the ring doesn't bother my ring finger at all. But the outermost prongs are at about 2 o'clock and 10 o'clock, and they're CRAZY-abrasive against the sides of my middle finger and pinky!

Has anyone had to deal with this before?? I'm not sure if my finger will just get used to it (although the thought of developing calluses on the sides of my fingers makes me CRINGE), or if I should reach out to a jeweler to see if they can do anything about it?

Any and all advice is appreciated!!

Take it back to the jeweler. They should be able to file the prongs down and make it comfortable for you.

They shouldn't hurt that much, definitely ask the Jewelers to look at it.

Yikes! Definitely not normal. Take it to the jeweler and show them where it’s bothering you, they can probably either fix it or reset it. You definitely shouldn’t have to live with that pain forever!

The problem is that the jeweler made it custom, and my fiancé purchased it from an Etsy shop (aka, definitely not local!). Is it worth it to reach out and see if they can alter the ring, or should I just try a local jeweler??

Try a local jeweler. They might just do it for free. Filing it shouldn't take more than a minute.
You could do it yourself with a nail file, just gently on the sharp edge that is bothering you.
