Help me pick my plates!

Marcia, on July 9, 2020 at 9:02 AM Posted in Registry 1 22

So I'm finally registering, and I am between two sets of plates. I figured if I wanted to find people with a good aesthetic eye, it would be on a website of people planning their weddings! This is my very first real set of plates, and I am so excited. So out of these two, which set would you go with?

Not to be rude, but you should pick what YOU like since you are going to use them. You shouldn't pick something based on what the internet likes.

Honestly, I would go with something more neutral, but if it comes down to these two then I would choose the second set. The red, white, and blue set reminds me of the 4th of July.

I’m one that loves plain white dishes 😂
That being said I love the coffee cup with the yellow set!

I love the blue and white set. It has a vintage feel which is totally my vibe, and it’s slightly less busy than the other. I registered for white dishes but a lot of blue and white serveware like platters and bowls. Can’t wait to use them!

Oooh - those are both really fun patterns!! 😍 What does the rest of your kitchen and home decor look like? Does it match both of those sets?

I'm personally leaning a little towards the 2nd set - it looks like it would work well for all seasons!

The blue and white set is very classic so if you're more traditional I'd go with those, but I think the second set is super cute/whimsical

First, I'd say this is a decision between you and your FH. Plates are very personal and depends on your style.

Personally, I don't like my plates dark in color because I don't want to hide or disguise my food. So of the two you have I'd go with the yellow for that reason alone.

Ooooo they are both great patterns! Which one would go best with your interior style? Personally, I adore the first ones (the blue)! They would look beautiful displayed in a hutch.

You are definitely right! I just think both are so beautiful, but I know I don't quite have room for two. Just seeing if anyone has any fresh perspectives before I pick

Both are pretty choices! I agree the white & blue are more clean and classic. But if you like to “mix things up” in terms of decor, the multi-colored collection is more versatile to use with different colored napkins, tablecloth, and centerpieces.

I have a white place setting because I have several napkin and tablecloth colors. I like a cleaner look so I’d go for the first set but choose the one that fits your style and personality best!

I didn't even think about displaying them! We will be moving to a new place, so we have a little chance to redecorate, but this did make me think about how the plates will fit in with our whole vision for the kitchen.

Ps include the darker pieces in your set, in my opinion that makes it fabulous.
The contrast is what makes it spectacularSmiley smile

I'm personally not a fan of either. I agree that I would pick something more neutral.

They’re both awesome! I can tell why the decision is hard for you to make because they both would look really great. I think the second one would be my pick!
