Help ! i haven’t asked my moh to be moh

Samantha, on July 31, 2020 at 3:30 AM Posted in Family and Relationships 0 7
I know I procrastinated in officially asking her to be my MOH since our wedding is in November.... I originally planned to ask everyone as bridesmaids ( which I did ) and to surprise her by asking again to be my MOH.

Is it too late to even ask her? There’s been some tension on my side of the family, so I haven’t felt the perfect timing to ask her and I don’t want to hear others opinions (she’s from my FH side) since my brothers won’t be groomsmen..
So my reason of procrastinating was due to the tension of not asking my brothers to be groomsmen, and it surprised my parents on that matter, however they were going to escort my mother down during the ceremony and one with the flower girls...Atleast this is what I had planned...
What’s the best way to move on from the situation without any stress or tension occurring? Any advice...

It’s not too late! You should ask her. Don’t worry about what anyone else thinks. If that’s who you want by your side, that is the only thing that matters. Since she’s not part of your family, don’t let their stress and tension keep you from asking her. That’s not fair to you or to her.
Your MOH and bridesmaids are supposed to be those who are closest to you while the best man and groomsmen are those closest to your FH. It’s totally understandable that he wouldn’t ask your brothers to be groomsmen, so I’m not totally sure why your parents are upset about it. Regardless, you cannot let them keep you from having the bridal party that you want to have.

Unfortunately, you can't always please everyone. My brother was a bride's man rather than a groomsman because him and I have a close relationship. My husband also had a groomswoman so we didn't follow the traditional men on one side and women on the other. If you want her to be your maid of honor, you need to ask her immediately because she needs time to get a dress and have it altered.

I don't see how it could hurt to ask. She's already in the wedding, it's just a different title.

If you want her as your MOH ask her ASAP don't wait any longer, That's what you have chosen and everyone isn't going to always like or agree with your choices but as long as you feel in your heart that's what you want to do and your happen that's all that matters at the end of the day. It's your day and YOUR opinion and feelings matter over all

I'd just go ahead and ask her. Never too late unless you want her to wear something else and she's already purchased the dress everyone else is going to wear.. then it could be awkward.

It's not to late to ask her. If I was you I'd forget what everyone else thinks and do exactly what you want to do. It's not in any situation a requirement to have your brothers in your wedding. I have 3 brothers and none of them are in the wedding they are just guest. Don't let people's feelings force you to do what they want you to do. You will regret having a wedding planned around everyone else.
