Help! Having a small intimate ceremony but don’t know if we should make a registry

Hi there! We are doing and intimate immediate family only ceremony in Italy May 2027 but are planning to do a courthouse ceremony in Feb 2026. We have to have a legal ceremony in the US before being able to do it overseas. With our ceremony’s being so small I don’t know if I should create a registry for family and friends to have the option. I by no means want to offend anyone but my fiancé and I have decided that this is what we want and will be our best option! We both have very large families and it would be out of budget to invite everyone but I am not sure if people would want to buy us gifts? I have no idea what I am doing and would appreciate any advice!
