Help - Enclosure (Detail) Cards

MrsMitch , on April 11, 2017 at 8:58 AM Posted in Planning 0 11

Are the enclosure cards always used to provide directions? With most people being pretty familiar with GPS in their car or on their cell phones I sort of feel this is unnecessary.

I would like to use the enclosure cards to indicate:

- Complimentary valet parking will be located off of Second Avenue (west side of the building)

-Guests may RSVP by mail or on our wedding website

Is the above acceptable?

We also have a block of rooms reserved at two hotels. Do I need to include this on the cards as well or is having the information on the wedding website enough?

I wanted to make sure the wording sounds okay to communicate this info.

I think having the room block information on the website is fine. We had a Reception card, and we had an insert with a link to the website. We have a page on our website where you can get directions, but I agree with GPS it seemed unnecessary to put in a directions card. Our insert card for the website said, "For more information about our wedding, the city or your stay, or if you would like to RSVP online please visit: " and had our URL.

I know that in theory everyone has a gps, but some venues' addresses don't lead guests to the venue but to some random field somewhere. And with WAZE, which I love, there are sometimes network glitches.

    I'd do the careds.

@OGAlecia thanks! I like how you've worded the information in that bottom paragraph.

    @Celia can you clarify?

Are you saying include directions on the cards?

I should also note the venue is a popular landmark downtown. You can kind of see it from anywhere.

With it being a landmark in downtown, you probably don't need to include it.

I am only including them in mine because the resort is so large and hard to navigate by just the resort signs.

I would include directions. When I go to my venue I lose my GPS signal and it is right in the middle of Long Island, five minutes from a major road. Sometimes in cities larger buildings interfere with GPS.

I included the accommodation info, our wedding website info, and then a little part about the provided shuttle

I am including accommodations info, info about how to request early check-in, address and written directions, and our wedding website which has tons of info. I know most people use GPS but there are still quite a few people, particularly older people, who don't. Reception is also crappy at my venue/in the area and I expect many people will lose their signal.

I included directions because I have a lot of elderly guests who definitely do not use GPS. I've attached a copy of my details card to give you a clear idea of what we did. Our other cards were just RSVPs and the main invite.

Our enclosure cards have directions only.

I would leave off the directions and include the information about parking and room blocks. Not everyone will visit your wedding website and that is important info that most people should see.
