Help!! Dress is tight but still zips. Will good shapewear fix this?

Hope, on March 22, 2022 at 2:49 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 6
We’re exactly 2 months out from my wedding day. I tried on my dress today for the first time in months and was shocked how much tighter it was on me. I’m a pretty small/average size person and my weight *usually* doesn’t fluctuate very much, but I guess I’ve packed on a couple extra pounds over the past few months without realizing it. My dress still zips all the way up, but it is wayyy tighter than it was before and it’s pulling around the zipper. I’m so worried about the zipper breaking! I know I still have some time to eat right, exercise, etc. and if all I need to do is lose 5lbs in the next 2 months I should be okay. But does anyone have tips on how to lose the weight? Also, has anyone had good luck with shapewear making it easier to zip up the dress/prevent pulling? My dress is strapless and the back isn’t low but it’s lower. I’ve attached a picture of the back when I first bought it so you can see what it looks like and LMK of any appropriately styled shapewear I should try! Help!! Dress is tight but still zips. Will good shapewear fix this? 1

Avoid eating processed and fatty foods. Eat lean meat, nonfat Greek yogurt, fruit for your carbs, etc. you may also lose it naturally with the increased stress as the wedding gets closer.

Eat less sugar and bread. Don’t eat right before bed and make sure you get plenty of rest. Have regular amount of exercise and don’t eat more calories then you can burn. 😊

My friend ran into the exact same problem! She had been using her Peloton all the time and her waist/thighs had gotten a little bigger as a result (oops!). She ended up not really being able to breathe in her dress in November (though it did zip), and cut down on her carb and alcohol intake drastically. She needed to lose 5-10 pounds to make the dress fit more comfortably and used her mom as an accountability buddy. She lost about 8 by January for her wedding and the dress fit like a dream!

Eating at a caloric deficit is how I tackled my quarantine weight. I also like doing a plank regimen of 45 seconds on/ 15 second rest (working towards 10 minutes of this), followed by a yoga session or a HIIT workout, then a 10-20 minute cool-down walk. I also try to get my 10,000 steps in each day since I sit at a desk all day at work.

You can definitely achieve 5lbs in 2 months! Use a calorie calculator to help you discover exactly how many calories you can have per day while creating a deficit.

Paige is correct! The only way to lose weight is CICO (calories in, calories out) and creating a deficit in your diet. Do not fall for MLM scams, drinks, pills, etc.
I suggest upping your water intake and fiber intake. Fiber powder is an easy way to feel full longer (sugar free! Very important.) As a temporary 2 month change, avoiding carbs and sugars is totally fine (not sustainable but absolutely fine short term.) Adding exercise can help, too. Muscle strengthening actually burns more calories than cardio, but whatever you add will help by creating a further deficit gap.

If you want to do it the easy way, get something like nutrisystem for 8 weeks. I lost 5 pounds the first week and am at 7 weeks now and down a total of 11 pounds. (And I’ve cheated a bit the last 3 weeks.) it’s so hard trying to determine on your own how to eat the right proportions of protein , carbs, fat.
