Help! 2.5 weeks and corset is too big

Munkos, on August 26, 2014 at 8:52 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8

Ugh I am in trouble ladies!

Last I tried my dress on, it was a bit loose in the bust, and when cinched right enough to keep my boobs secure it caused a bit of back fat - but I thought - no problem, a bit of padding will help fill out the frot of the dress and the corset won't have to be closed so tightly and the back fat will disappear.

Well I have lost 1-2lbs since then and it must have all come off my boobs/back/under bust. We had to pull the dress almost completely closed at the top to make it fit my chest and that in turn made it super tight in the back, and I have major back spillage because the dress doesn't fall right.

What do I dooooo?! I had a friend do my alterations (for free) because at that point all I needed was a hem and bustle put in. I'm waiting to hear back if she feels confident enough in her skills to alter the top of the corset and if not I have to cross my fingers that I can get my dress in SOMEWHERE ASAP!

I'm freaking out. I refuse to walk down the aisle with my back spilling all over the back of my dress because my freakin boobs shrunk.

I tried stuffing a suuuuuper padded bra in there (without closing it) to see if that would work but then the dress gapes in the front and doesn't close right - but it did look better in the back because it was more open and didn't need to be so tight.

As it is right now, if we leave it lose enough in the back that there is no back fat, if I lean back my boobs nearly come right out - there is too much space between the dress and my boobs. I either need to find a way to fill it out or take it in.

Ahhh this is stress I did not need!!

Maybe using a push up silicone thingy will help fill it out? They're little sticky cups you put under the girls to lift them and it makes them "rounder" at the top. Maybe try those and see if they'll help before you tear the dress apart to fix it.

There's too much room for them to work. Smiley sad I can literally stick my hand in and wiggly it around no problem. It needs to come in or I need some MEGA padding. Luckily my dress isn't complicated (from my completely uneducated opinion haha) there's no beading or detail or lace. I'm really hoping it's as simple as pulling a bit off each side at the seams and viola.

Thats usually how it goes! Cant just buy a dag-gone dress! I think its an easy fix if you have a simple bodice. And decent fabric. Getting the neckline even will probably be the challenge. Hope it all goes smoothly!

Try going to VS and getting their Bombshell bra, it adds 2 cup sizes! Its amazing for needing to add some in the bust. Also, when the dress is on, try having someone rub their hand from the middle of your back (between the dress and your skin) toward your armpits, this usually helps redistribute the "back fat" into the bust Smiley winking

I tried a bra that adds 2 cup sizes but it doesn't sit right - the top of the neckline gapes and all you can see is bra. They bra cups don't fit in the dress cups. And it's too much spillage for the swoop. We tried but as soon as I move my arms it comes back. We're talking having to pull the dress almost tight enough to cut circulation off just to get my boobs to not slip out.

But! I foud a seamstress who will get me in tomorrow afternoon! Hoping it's an easy fix and not going to cost an arm and a leg.

Good luck! Please let us know how it goes, I also have a corset and she told me I would have no problems with weight loss.
