If you can't afford one don't get one. Are they helpful? Yes. But they're aren't necessary. Use that money for something else.

You could ask a friend or family member to help facilitate

I found women on Recycled Brides (our local wedding Facebook group) that would do day of coordination for $200+. They weren't professionals so you had that risk, but some women did hire them.

Have you called them? Do they have a storefront where you could stop by? What method have you been using to contact them and how many times have you tried? Where are you located, we could help you search for back up options, just in case this one falls through

If it's not in the budget, don't have one. We didn't - it wasn't a necessary expense in our eyes. We had family and friends who were willing and able (And eager!) to do everything a DOC would do - and for free. My advice would be to check with your loved ones - friends, family, bridesmaids, anyone who you think is a reliable & responsible person - and see if any of them would like to help you on the day of the event. You'd be surprised how often loved ones will say yes.

That being said, you can't expect anyone to do it for you - so if you really do want a DOC, I would suggest trimming the budget in other areas so you can afford one.

    Best of luck! Smiley smile

    Oh weird.

Have you tried to message her through WeddingWire? Does her business have a Facebook or other social media account where you could post to her?

Do you still want to go ahead with hiring her, are you planning to give her more time to reply? Or is this giving you second thoughts about working with her?

Do you know anyone that studied event management? I went to school for hospitality management in Orlando, FL and many girls that I met in college were doing an event management track and got certified as wedding planners. I had one of my former classmate/friend coordinate my wedding. I do think it's really important to get one.

Students/beginners will charge a lot less.

Honestly, if you can’t afford one, then don’t even worry about it. I am sure they are super nice and helpful to have, but they aren’t wholly necessary.
