Heels in grass

MrsKruse, on May 3, 2017 at 4:17 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8

For a possible (weather permitting) outdoor ceremony in grass, what do you think you can get away with in terms of heels before they would sink into the ground? I'm obviously not going for stilettos since I can't walk in those anyway... but do I absolutely need wedges or block heels, or would something a little thinner work out? I was thinking 2-3" for height of the heel.

You can get tall block heels, I'm probably doing those or wedges, but that's just because I like them.

They also have these heel protector things that you can use, not sure the actual name of them, but they are like little circles that you put your heel into and it creates a larger base. Maybe you could use that.

Any heel is going to sink in. Wedges would be your best bet but you can buy heel protectors if you're dead set against them.

Try searching Amazon for "Heels Above". They're like $12 and will prevent you from sinking into grass. It's just a cap for the heel, so they're easily removed after.

    Wear wedges or flats.

Wedges or block heels would be the best bet. I'd definitely choose wedges because they are more comfortable to wear all day long

We are having an outdoor cocktail hour, and i am planning to get heel protectors or change into flats. my dress is long so no one will see my shoes anyway.

also-- i'd make sure you let your guests know that the ceremony is outside as well. i've been invited to weddings where i didn't realize i would be on grass and damaged some satin shoes that way.

I would think wedges would work best.

Wedges or block heels are your best bet. Heel protectors will stop the fabric on the heels from being destroyed, but you will likely still sink into the grass.
