Heard some good news from my venue

Chris, on June 4, 2020 at 2:18 PM Posted in Planning 1 16
My 05/02/20 wedding in Miami was postponed due to Covid to 08/29/20. With most of Florida going into phase 2 tomorrow we anticipate South Florida isn’t too behind (we went into phase 1 a week after the rest of Florida). Well I heard from my venue today and they confirmed they are opening later this month and will be fully operational for our wedding at the end of August. And even more good news is that due to the size of our wedding (we are only having about 50 guests), there is no need for us to further downsize or have any strict restrictions in place. As they said “maybe just a little more spread out”. Is anyone else starting to receive good news regarding their wedding as our county reopens?

Kelsey that is such good news! Isn’t it sort of a sigh of relief? When is your wedding scheduled for? And where?

That's great news! Our wedding is in October for the Keys. As you know, they just reopened this Monday to tourists. The sales staff is not yet back at the Resort and we were in the midst of waiting on our contract when the world shut down. So... your news is definitely reassuring even to me.

    Congratulations! So happy for you!

Margaret there is definitely hope for us all! I think for my wedding... where we were 3 months ago with my wedding plans crumbling due to the pandemic and now how things are opening up again today and it gives me hope for where we might in a little less than 3 months. I feel like Florida would possibly be in phase 3 by the end of the summer... definitely not impossible!

My wedding is in Wisconsin, so things are a bit different here. And yes I feel like a weight is off my shoulders right now. And my wedding is scheduled for September 12th of this year! I'm so excited. 100 days away!!

That is great! Did they say anything about masks? I'm in Maryland with an August 29th wedding. We move into Phase II tomorrow but still are at groups no larger than 10...sooo despite moving into another phase group sizes have not increased.

I live in Maryland and believe masks are still required at this point. Hopefully by August they won't be.

I asked them to clarify if there are any restrictions with masks and am now waiting to hear back on that. I’m fine with it vulnerable guests wear masks by choice but I don’t want the mask thing to be mandatory.

I'm in MD too and have the same wedding date. My county (PG) is not in phase 2 yet. I talked to my vendor yesterday. They said that my guest count would likely be allowed but the would have to space out tables and limit the amount of people per table.

How many people? I’m still so unsure I feel like vendors are all telling brides it will be fine regardless.

I have a guest list of 150-200. I think they are saying I may be okay because i am half their occupany count? I know the resturants can only operate at 50% right now so maybe that is their reason. But I agree with you, I still confused on what to do.

I think weddings are going to differ than restaurants. I would think it would be more like bars because of the increased socialization. I do agree we need more clarification here in Maryland from the governor!
