Having to postpone for a second time 😔

Karen, on June 17, 2020 at 8:18 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 4
We went from April 30 to August 22, 2020. Now because of the uncertainty of the military travel ban we are starting to consider to postpone the big wedding for sometime in 2021. We plan to still get married in August but that would entail in having our families drive all the way to Montana from Texas. I'm looking into renting an airbnb with beautiful mountain views. I'm having a hard time deciding on whether or not to wear my dress (I literally can't wait to wear it) because I feel like my dress is more formal than what we would end up having at an Airbnb. Ughhh idk what to do. Also, do we need to send ANOTHER "change the date" ? 🥴

I feel you, my friend! We were originally set for 6/20 - this Saturday Smiley sad Then we postponed to late August and then to Summer 2021 for our big celebration with everyone. We too are getting married this summer but much, much smaller and much more casual than our original idea. We sent a second save the date for the one in August but I was too emotionally exhausted to send another one so we sent out an e-mail instead with a really nice message and as much info as we could (happy to send to you in a separate message if you need help). It is entirely up to you but I think letting people know ASAP vs. wasting time on order, postage, mailing, etc, is the way to go. It will probably also make you feel a lot more at ease. Regarding the dress, that is such a personal decision. If it helps, I am saving my dress for the big day since it represents what I anticipated for our original wedding day and I still want everyone to see me in it. I get it though, the anticipation is a lot but sometimes that's also a positive. Thinking of you!

I would wear your dress ! I feel like if you had more chances to wear your dress other than once then it’s good to take it. Wedding dresses aren’t the kind of things that can be worn repeatedly so any chance to is good

    What Melle said!

Heck, I rewore my dress for my Zoom birthday party last month, because ... it was my birthday, and I didn't want to wear yoga pants anymore!

Formality doesn't matter, it's what makes you happy.

If you're changing the date again I'd stick with an email or online invite as an update!! To save you time and money!

And I definitely think you can rock your wedding dress for your August ceremony!! ❤️ Especially if you pick a ceremony location with a gorgeous view!
