Hi Everyone,

I bought my dress off the rack on Friday and I'm now losing sleep because I don't think it's the right one! She salesperson loved it, and so did my mom (via FaceTime), but I'm so worried that it looks cheap and won't achieve the overall look I'm going for on my wedding day.

The dress fit is good, but I think it's too flashy for my wedding venue (outdoor garden) or style (going for elegant). I also realized that it's 100% polyester and made in China, which I had no idea about! The salesperson said it was "private label" which really means it has no label.

Should I ask the store to make an exception to their return policy? Or could alterations salvage it (I could remove some tulle and the beading). Or, should I just eat the cost and look for something else? Unfortunately this was at the top of my price range already, so I would need to start saving.

Any help and advice would be much appreciated!

If it's making you sick, find a way to keep looking. Yes, see if the store will make an exception or just eat the cost.

I think the dress is very pretty in the photo, but YOU need to feel beautiful in it. I know what it feels like to have regret. I didn't do anything about mine and I wish that I had.

The dress fits perfectly for an outside wedding. In fact it is gorgeous and fits well on you but if you are having doubts I say see if they have a return policy and let them know how you truly feel about it.

I personally think it’s gorgeous. I’m having a garden wedding this summer and my dress is actually somewhat similar to this. However, if you don’t love it then keep looking!

The dress is absolutely stunning on you. But like pp if you are having doubts or am not loving it. Keep looking. Or see if the store will exchange it towards a different dress.

I think that this fits well for a garden wedding with the flowers. It does not appear cheap to me at all. Did you love it at the time of purchase as well?

I really liked it at time of purchase, it was the best-fitting gown I've tried on and it was my 4th bridal shop visit.
I opened it up the next day to look at the label, and that is when I realized that the Hem is made of plastic and it's polyester, and the sequins now seem to be too much.

I would never be able to tell from looking and still think that you look beautiful in the gown. However, if it's not the dress that has stolen your heart, then I would consider purchasing a different gown.

I think this dress is beautiful and really flatters your shape! But if you aren’t in love, you should talk to the store about options for a different gown. This one really is perfect for a garden wedding, though, so don’t worry about that. As long as you feel like a bride, it doesn’t matter if it “goes” with anything!

1) that dress looks great on you.
2) it doesn’t lol cheap or not name brand. And really what’s a label anyway.
3) as someone who lost sleep over their dress I’ll tell you day of it won’t matter that you weren’t in love with your dress. It spoke to you when you bought it when none of the others did. I get the whole there might be something better out there feeling. But, stop looking at what else is out there. If the shop won’t let you exchange it and you don’t have money for another one, don’t stress over it. You will be beautiful on your day no matter what.

I think the dress looks flattering but if it doesn't make you feel beautiful then it isn't for you.

I think that dress is stunning on you! A brand name and label does not always make something better than something else (except shoes and purses, in my personal opinion ).

Ask the shop...if there are no exceptions, I would take some time to think about it. It really fits you amazing!

I think you look gorgeous and the dress is fitting to your style, but if you don't love it, I would see if they could refund or exchange it.
