Having hair and make up professionally done

I got my hair and makeup done professionally. I don't wear more than mascara normally. Honestly, it's a racket. Like anything else, as soon as you say "wedding" prices increase and sometimes double! If you want a simple look, I would probably skip it. I find that HMUA have a hard time doing simple. I honestly don't know if I would have felt any different on the day of my wedding had I done my own HMU. All I wanted was a natural look with a curled ponytail. It is nice not to have to be in charge of your HMU though.

I opted to have both done professionally. I didn’t want to have to stress about doing my own that day and I also wanted to look a bit more refined that day rather than the usual me. I don’t regret it at all.

Its honestly up to you. There is usually a lot going on and the stress of it all can be very overwhelming on the day of. I have practiced a lot with my own hair and makeup that if I did end up doing it I would be proud but I do not want to worry about it tbh. There's just going to be a lot going on that day anyway for myself to worry about. You could have someone just do your hair at the salon (cheaper I have found) or come to you and do your makeup yourself or vice versa. Im having one of my bridesmaids do my makeup because she is going to school for it. Then having all of us go to the salon.
