Having Friend Ordained in Georgia

I originally wanted to do the same but the GA law is not clear about online ordinations. I'm hiring an officiant instead.

I called the county court. They said any ordination would be acceptable. Hopefully it will be fine.

Yea I'm not taking a chance with "hopefully" and my wedding but good luck!

Our friend that got us together got ordained and will be marrying us! So excited for him to be sealing the deal for us!

@Riddell2Be that's great. Where did they go to get ordained? This is my second wedding and my fiance's third. So, its a small intimate, back yard wedding. It would be very special to us to have our close friend marry us rather than a stranger. He was my fiance's friend when we met and has watched our relationship from the beginning. He loves us and is probably more excited about us getting married than anyone. I just want to be sure we have him legal.

My MOH is ordained in GA and went through American Marriage Ministries.

Marissa he is a member of the Universal Life Church! LOL he used themonastery.org. When he got his card, he texted us and said, "you may now refer to me as Reverend". The funny part is he's Jewish, with a super ethnic last name. So it's hysterical! He's been so amazing and is really looking forward to it.

This isn't either of our first rodeos either so it was nice to use a friend, especially one who got us together!

We may do this as well but only after I triple check the legality of it all...

@Riddell2Be he just informed me he used to Universal Life Church as well. Good luck to ya'll! I know he'll make it special for us. I only have 2 months left! So much to do.
