Having a buffet dinner, How to release tables?

I think this is confusing and depending on how many people you have it's not going to take as long as you think. The people who worked at our venue just went table to table telling them to go, it worked out much better.

I say keep it simple. Just have the MC announce by table number whose turn it is to go up. We did 2 tables at a time. The MC just announced the table numbers as he noticed the lines getting smaller. We did that and it went really well.

The song idea is unique but way too confusing for people. Keep it simple. You can have table number or have table names that are called.

I think playing the songs will get confusing. Calling it by numbers will make it easier for everyone.

That does sound a little confusing. People usually respond better to having table numbers or table names called as others suggested.

I think they will be talking and won't notice the song. Announcing table numbers is usual for large weddings with a MC. I was going to have someone come around and personally dismiss tables.

I have actually only been to one wedding where they released the tables and honestly it sucked. All the other weddings I have been to that did buffet is that you went up whenever to get your food. I know so many people that like to wait to get their food and others that like to get up right away.

I went to one wedding where you had to send one person for your table to play musical chairs and that determined your order for eating, but they still called the table numbers. I was not a big fan.
