Haven’t gotten photos back yet? Etiquette?

I should also mention that I had to reach out for sneak peeks and then I reached out this week to politely check in on the progress and eta. I guess I wouldn’t be so annoyed if there was clear communication that’s open but there simply isnt, only when I’ve reached out.

If your contract states 6 weeks, maybe give them a few extra days or a week and then definitely start being pushy.

I would wait until the full 6 weeks has passed, and then give up to a week grace period. This year is a very busy year for vendors, with all the weddings postponed from last year plus weddings normally booked for this year. I would reach out if you still haven't gotten them after 6.5 weeks to check in and ask for a date that you can expect to receive them. It's tough to be patient when waiting for the photos, but you also don't want the photographer to rush through them either. If you haven't gotten them after 7 weeks with no update on a new date that they estimate to have them done, remind them of the 6 week deadline in the contract and be a little more firm at that time in asking for a date estimate.

I would wait until the 6 weeks as contract states maybe those who already got theirs back didn't need as much editing

Were sneak peeks in your contract? Have the 6 weeks actually passed or is it going to be 6 weeks this weekend? I’d wait a bit longer. You’ve already reached out twice on something that wasn’t even due to you yet.

Look at your contract! Is this for engagement shoot or actual wedding photos?


Engagement photos my photographer says 2 weeks.
Wedding photos it’s states next day teasers and then 6 to 8 weeks for those.
