Have you ever seen a parent dance that was just instrumental?

Following! I think my dad wants to do the father/daughter dance to some kind of waltz (not my style AT ALL) and I'm not opposed, just not sure how it'll flow. Would love to see what other people did.

    ETA: spelling

I personally haven't seen one, but if you want that I think you should go for it. Some of the dances, though clearly personal in some nature, have made me cringe as a guest.

I think you should do whatever you want-

BUT I will say I went to a wedding where the first dance and mother/groom dance were just instrumentals and it was super boring to watch.. Can't give an exact reason why but all the guests were very uninterested as the dance went on

Hadn't really researched it yet. I was just listening to Sirius XM 60s on the 6 and heard Bill Purcell's Our Winter Love and realized how rare instrumentals really are.

I don't even know if they are planning parent dances. Kinda hope not. But would never interfere with their plans. Personally, my first choice would be that they invite my husband and I and the bride's parents to the dance floor to join them after their first dance. The bride is not particularly close to her dad and my son and I aren't the sentimental type by nature. (Her son is walking her down the aisle) Then we could use just about any song and it wouldn't be "awkward" for any of us, plus it could include FOG and MOB.

Would that be too out of the box?

My cousin and uncle did a salsa dance (or it may have been a similar style? I'm not super familiar with all the styles but it sounded like salsa music). It was awesome! People couldn't stop talking about how fun and different it was.

My father/daughter dance was instrumental only. Never occurred to me to worry about it.
