hate dress alterations sos

I purchased a size 10 sample Monique Lhullier, it was off the rack and I got a good price. Well, I am a size 0, and in order to get it to fit, we’ve had to take so much in, it’s totally changed the shape of the dress. Now I’m having major regret. In order to keep the dress on (it’s strapless), it’s so tight, it makes me look thicker, feel like I have armpit fat and back fat, and can’t breathe. I also feels like it changes the shape of the boobs. I’ve had 3 fittings so far, and am scheduled for one more. I’m scared and feel I should schedule another emergency one to address this concern. Please give me your feedback as to how I can help this! My wedding is in 22 days and I’m crying 😭hate dress alterations sos 1

I actually love your alterations! I thought the before picture was the after picture and was sad, but then I realized I had it backwards. I think you look gorgeous! The dress looks like it was made for you!

I had the exact same experience! I thought the before picture was the after picture, and agreed it looked worse. But once I realized the picture on the left was the after picture, I was confused as to what the problem is… the dress looks absolutely gorgeous on you! The shape is so much better, the fit is perfection, and your figure looks incredible! I wouldn’t change a thing!

    This.

You look absolutely gorgeous in the dress. I think you may feel like you look thicker because the dress is now fitting vs being too large. The illusion netting actually blends in seamlessly now and there is no more bunching in the bodice.

Honestly? The other ladies are right - I was confused about which was before and which one was after - because the after photo on the left is SO much better! It fits you perfectly, and looks like it was made for you. You're going to be a beautiful bride!

Your dress looks lovely Smiley smile I wouldn't change a thing and you can't see any fat anywhere. I know our self opinion can often be worse when we look at ourselves but there honestly isn't any arm or back fat to be seen. You look great! Smiley smile

I don't see an ounce of fat and it looks great on you! They've done a good job with how many sizes down theyve had to go!

I literally do not understand what you are talking about at all. You are in your own head girl.

The dress looks a TON better after alterations. The shape has not changed significantly at all and you do not look any bit thicker or fatter. I'm actually amazed your seamstress was able to take it in FIVE sizes and retain the integrity of the dress. It looks better that it did before, and it looks like it was made for you.

I am not trying to be rude, but your seamstress has done an incredible job and you look fantastic in the dress, so I'm a bit concerned about your take on this situation. Crying? Maybe its pre-wedding emotions getting to you, maybe you already have anxiety or body dysmorphia or some other mental health challenge you are going through, but what you are describing is not what anyone else sees at all.

You look stunning. The dress looks stunning. If you truly feel like the dress looks awful after unanimous agreement of the 10 of us saying the exact opposite, I honestly would encourage you to consider therapy because it seems like you have a very distorted perception of yourself.

Also there is ZERO way a strapless dress will stay up without being tight, and we are all covered in skin and a slim protective layer of body fat, which is necessary to protect our organs and maintain healthy hormone functions, so the inevitable result is some squishing. We can't see what the dress feels like on you, but I can assure you it isn't creating any visible rolls at all, at least not from these photos! You look like a fit, sexy, aspirational model. Please don't be so critical of yourself.

I think this dress looks gorgeous on you. Is there something else going on making you so critical of yourself and your seamstress? Good luck to you. You look stunning
