Hashtag Suggestions???

Shaina, on December 16, 2016 at 11:31 AM Posted in Planning 0 5

Greetings, everybody! I am not yet engaged, but hoping to be by the end of this year, and then we plan to marry in April 2017. Not sure the exact day yet, we're waiting until he officially proposes to set the date. Not much time for planning, but I think it will be enough if I get started now (hopefully!)...

My current last name is Lawson, and FH's last name is Greene. (First names are Shaina and O'Neil). I've been trying to settle on a hashtag before we make any engagement announcement, so that everything can use that from the very beginning. However, the one hashtag that I was in love with is already in use (#GoingGreene2017). Someone in a different location is using it and their wedding is also in April 2017.

I'm not sure whether there's some way to change it slightly and it still have that ring to it, or if you guys have any suggestions that could be used instead then I would be greatly appreciative!!!

Thanks in advance! Smiley smile

You could always just add "in" #GoingGreenein2017

Also I hope you have vedors already because April is 4 months away and even though I am June I had to book everything at least 10 months out. I wish you both luck for an amazing day though!

@Samantha The venue is going to be his parents farm, and everything except the caterers will be local small business and/or taken care of by family, so we should be okay on all of it. As soon as we decide for sure what we're doing regarding invites (i.e., small and private or huge... there won't be a possibility for much in between), then we'll go ahead and contact some caterers. Until then, I honestly don't know whether I'll be feeding 5, 50, or 500 people... :/

@Meredith I hadn't even thought of dropping the "g" at the end of Going... I'll check and see if that one is being used anywhere else. I like it! Thank you!

Whew! That is a relief, I was staring to stress for you, knowing how much it is to get everything together and I have been at it for months! I kind of wish that we had family with property, those wedding are always so gorgeous, but I am super happy with the zoo which is where ours is. I would say you can probably start contacting now and at least get an idea of what the cost might be for the different amounts and if they have that date open. Smiley smile

I like the idea of dropping the "g" too, I didn't even think of that! We don't have a last name to do anything fun (Christensen) with so we are going off the course and doing something random I think, and maybe just having a generic one to add with it.

If you're going guests will use it, I wouldn't drop the g. It's hard to remember odd spellings when you're drinking!

    How about...

    #ShesGoingGreene2017

    #GoingGreene417 (for and four '17!)

Fair warning though, even caterers start booking early. You might want to make some phone calls now! You can always change your guest count
