What part of Missouri are you having your wedding at? I live in St. Louis, but my venue is about a 40 minute drive outside the county. My date is still set for Oct. 17th, and we’ve been having trouble getting any definitive answers from our venue (small privately owned winery). I’m really hoping and praying that I won’t have to postpone.

We are in Northeast Mo. About 100 miles north of St Louis. I am doing a wedding cake for a couple in St. Louis who were originally getting married in St. Louis county in August. They moved there wedding to an outdoor venue in St Charles county. So far she hasn’t had any problems and they are expecting 200-250. If your venue won’t get back to you, I would find a back up venue for sure. Maybe even something with plenty of outdoor space.

We postponed our October 3rd wedding. There is so much uncertainty still in my area and I was starting to feel like I was missing out on the excitement in the months leading to the wedding day because I’ve been so worried about everything. I feel amazing now that I’ve postponed and can really enjoy all of this next year! I really think it depends on your state where things are with restrictions. I’m in western New York so things are very restricted with weddings currently.

Our date is 10/16/2020 and If I hear one more "I havent returned my rsvp because I'm waiting to see what happens with covid" I will scream. We are in illinois and it seems like we will be doing a 50 person thing this year and something with everyone next december. Even if everything gets lifted by a miracle we have family that cant come for other reason and it would be too late to try and get everyone from out of town in town in time.

We just now decided to have our wedding 10/10/20. Our venue is perfectly fine with having it because were only having around 55-60 guests. Our governor is reducing restaurant capacity and gatherings to 10 people or less but said it didnt apply to businesses, weddings or outside parks. So were full steam ahead. I would just send out a thing saying if you dont feel comfortable coming, then you totally understand. Im not letting covid stop me from living the best day of my life.

Congratulations! I am so feeling your pain. We decided to postpone until May 15, 2021. Our original date was 10/24/2020. I am sure you are very frustrated with the venue situation. That is very unprofessional for them to not return your calls. Do they have a recording stating they are temporarily closed due to COVID-19? These venues are aware that this is a incredible difficult time for event holders / brides for this post and not having someone to discuss the closure situation adds undue stress. Are they a corporate co. Or private? I hope you’re able to speak with someone. Things of this nature would make me consider changing venues if refunds were possible. Try to not freak out. This is beyond your control.

We are still getting married in October we did have to change the date because we changed the venue so we would have a smaller wedding this year with the unknown of this. But good luck to you !!

Morgan, your post seriously made me feel so much better about having my backyard wedding on 9/19/20!! I’ve been so worried about people being upset with me for moving forward, when I should just be grateful for this special day!

I was freaking out very bad. But I did stalk them and after sending them an email about me being so upset I finally received a response and we are still on for October 4. I’m soooo happy.

Yes! I love that idea. I am going to add that to our invitations since we haven’t sent them out yet.

Hi Katherine! I am unsure at this point but needed some sense of certainty, so we made the decision we did. Overall, it has alleviated so much stress but I completely understand waiting it out as well.
