Has anyone used Tacboard for photos from guests?

Stephanie, on April 18, 2018 at 2:04 PM Posted in Planning 0 11
My mom found this thing called TacBoard where you sign up and they give you a phone number that you give to guests when they take pics at wedding events. The guests can text their pics to the number and they will end up on your online gallery. Has anyone used this service before? I think it might be fun to get a collection of pics from guests perspectives as well as the usual photographer pics. We would just have to let guests know the number (I think the company also sends you some placecards you can set out too). And, you can use it for all the wedding events! Thanks!

I just looked at it, $99 for the service. Pretty cool but I don't think I want to drop $99 especially if not a lot of people use it.

Have you looked up a service called Veri? its by the knot and its cheaper than tacboard and all the guest has to do is download an app and all pictures get sent to you from a certain time on your wedding day to the end.

I just saw Averie last night! I'm kinda more considering TacBoard because I saw them at a bridal show and have a discount code. But that looks cool too

My friend used Veri for her wedding
It was easy to use (even my mom managed to figure it out mostly) but I will say that really only the wedding party downloaded the app.
tacboard works about the same way.

Why would I pay $99 for people to text photos to an assigned phone number when they can text photos to me for free? This makes no sense.

Everyone at my shower and wedding just texted or emailed their pictures to me.

Valid point. The only reason I'm considering it is because I have a discount code.

Wed App is an app for wedding wire and you could do a hashtag, but if your discount code is a good one then you could give it a shot. The key is to make sure your guest are aware of this directly at the wedding. People will forget. Same as hashtags and snapchat filters, you have to make sure they use them there. Signs/DJ announcement something or it doesn't become as useful as it seems it would. People may decide to text you directly if they don't know its a specific phone number.

We used Tacboard. We loved it. It is easily worth the 99$ fee. It has kept our wedding private and off Facebook and instagram. All our family and guests can swap pictures easily. Highly recommend.

Apparently you wouldn't. But it actually makes a lot of sense for me, unless I was only going to have 5 people at my wedding. I can't imagine getting 1,000 texts from 100 people and having to corral all those photos out of each of those text messages. That would be too much unnecessary work, for me. I am a fan of technology and working smarter instead of harder. I signed up for TacBoard because it will have all the pictures in one place, easily accessible, and because I will have a live feed of the pictures as they come rolling in - which should be cool to see during the night.

Hello! Did you find tacboard useful? I'm greatly considering it for the convenience but the price is giving me pause. Thanks!
