Has anyone ordered their fiances ring from Zales?

Erica, on February 25, 2019 at 2:05 PM Posted in Planning 0 4

We ordered his ring from Zales and they ordered him the complete wrong size. So we had to reorder it and I just called to see if they had an estimate of when it might be in, and they told me they literally have no idea and can't give out a time frame because "there's only one ring being made"? That doesn't make any sense to me. It's just a tungsten band that needs to be ordered in a specific size. It isn't a custom design or an awkward size. Has anyone experienced this? The first one that was ordered incorrectly came in in 2 weeks. There are 16 weeks from the date we reordered to the week before the wedding. I'm sure it'll be in on time, I just don't like not having a date to expect it.

That seems odd since it isn't custom; but I think you have plenty of time for it to come in. I'd call again and see if you could speak to a different person who may know more.

That does sound a little strange. We ordered both of our wedding bands from Zales and had the most pleasant, seamless experience ever. I do think you have time, and shouldn't worry TOO MUCH, but definitely call again and try to speak with someone else.

I’ve had issues with them. We had to do a special order for my fiancé’s ring and was told they would call when it’s ready. I got a missed call from them but no voicemail. I called back to ask and the guy absolutely refused to look for me. He couldn’t check for me and told me to wait (which was Bull, he definitely can check to see if it’s in store). So I called asking for the manager and explained the situation and the persons like uh yeah it’s been here for a month. Well would have been nice to know! So I made a complaint but they were horrible to work with. Go into the store and talk to them face to face if you can and get a straight answer. It takes about a month or two If it’s a special order (not just a resizing but a brand new ring). They can absolutely give you and estimate and tell you it’s just that, could be a week or so off.

Tungsten rings need to be ordered in their specific sizes from the manufacturer (stores typically can't size them in house because of the metal type). Two weeks is the norm. Maybe you got someone new who doesn't know how their special order system works? I'd go in and talk to them face to face.
