Has anyone on here bought their dress at kleinfeld?

Sara, on February 10, 2016 at 8:39 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 20

I'm just curious and if you have what was that experience like?

No I didn't. I live in CA. Too far! I had THE BEST experience at the bridal salon I went to!

I had one friend that had an appointment at NYC Kleinfeld's and one that actually purchased.

Both said it was a great experience. The one that purchased her dress there is now kicking herself because it's 1,000 cheaper at most other salons.

My girlfriends and I are going to go into the city for brunch and go to Kleinfelds just for a fun stress free girly afternoon.

I'm hopefully booking the appointment in a couple weeks for when it's a bit warmer.

Yes! I went into it dreading finding a dress because I'm so self-conscience. These consultants know what they are doing! I fell in love with my dress, no regrets.

Following! I've got an appointment at the NY branch in a couple of weeks and I'm SO excited about it - it'll be my first time dress shopping.

I didn't, but one of my good friends did. She had a great experience. I have never heard of someone not having a great experience at Kleinfelds, but I would only buy my dress there if I was sure I wanted one of their exclusive designer's lines like Mark Zunino or Pnina Tornai. They mark their dresses up about 30% more than other salons. If you want say, a Maggie Sottero, you are better off buying it elsewhere.

Yes. I bought my dress there. I had thought I found the dress at another shop, but ended up buying at Kleinfields instead. The dress was better made than the one I was considering. My consultant was great.

I never knew that, @Jacqui. That's great advice.

I scheduled appt there because we're supposed to drive up there in March for my uncle's bday party in Brooklyn. I have an appt with another Bridal Shop this weekend. I was hoping Kleinfled's would have another sample sale soon, but I really don't have a lot of time to wait.

I did! I had a great experience as well. I agree with Jacqui that they do mark their prices up, but for the designer I got, which was not exclusive to them (Eve of Milady), I actually got it cheaper there than other salons I had looked at. I mentioned I could've gotten a 10% discount at a trunk show I had tried the dress on at before, and my consultant told her manager and the manager gave me 12.5% off, plus offered to ship it to me so I could avoid NY sales tax (this is only an option if you live outside of NY and are not getting married in NY). So I was extremely happy with saving money, and the overall experience was fun! By the way, they did ask me if I was saying yes to the dress, which made me laugh. Be aware that their alterations package starts at $795 and is a flat rate, so even if you don't need much, you'll still pay that. I will be getting my alteration done locally to avoid that. Also, the minimum price on gowns is $2,500 according to the email you get when you confirm your appointment, so designers who are less than that, like Maggie Sottero, should be ones you skip when you go there.

I did too! I love it, the attendants were helpful and not pushy. I tried on dresses under 2000 there, they just have less of them and they weren't what I was looking for. As far as alterations, it is a flat $795 or $1000 for express 1 week alterations. I live in Texas so I am not having alterations done by them, I saved the sales tax and only had to pay $85 for shipping.

A friend bought hers from there. It's expensive but she said she liked their experience. She ended up going to a trunk show the second time (at Kleinfelds) and found her dress. She met the designer during the trunk show which she liked. They do seem like they have a massive collection and she had trouble finding a dress her size but Kleinfeld had quite a few options she said!

I did not but a friend of mine did. She said the experience was great and the consultation went well. Her only complaint was that the dress she fell in love with, was much cheaper at a local salon.

I had a great Kleinfelds experience as well. My consultant was awesome and the salon is very pretty. At the time, I wasn't 100% sure of what I wanted so I ended up getting my gown at a later dress closer to philly.

I will say that I had trouble finding samples in my size at other salons I visited but that Kleinfelds had tons of dresses in my size (I usually wear a size 12).

I did! It was honestly the best dress shopping experience I had and I cannot express how happy I was with it.

My consultant was amazing, she took time to get to know me and asked about my FH & our relationship and wedding. She never once even asked what kind of dresses I liked, just what I had already tried on that I didn't feel good in. After that she went a pulled dresses in her own and the 3rd dress I tried on was my dress.

I do agree that it is pretty pricey, and unless you get a dress from a designer that is exclusive to them it might not be worth it. My dress is from MZ2 by Mark Zunino.

I definitely think that it's an experience that every bride should have. We (my mom & I) never once felt pressured to purchase anything and the consultant only pulled dresses within the budget that we gave her
