Has anyone heard of dark sites?

If you havent dark sites are places, usually national parks that are far removes from light pollution that you have an absolutely amazing breath taking view of the night sky.
This pic is from my state's dark site in Kissimmee.
My dream is to be married under a sky like this, nothing ele, just the 2 of us.

Im actually trying to find out the logistics of this. If possible i would totally have us elope to make this happen.

I haven't heard of anything like this, but I do know that you can rent areas of state/national parks for weddings - I have friends doing this next spring. I believe the ones around me have limited hours for events like weddings, but I suppose if you live in a state where you can get ordained online, you could plan to camp, bring an ordained friend with you, and have them marry you at night. Just a heads up though, that photo is almost definitely a long exposure shot, so while you could have a beautiful and starry sky, you likely won't see the detail you do in the photo.

Yea, while looking around at the different dark sites and stuff ive came across that. I would still plan to have a professional photographer do the pictures so we can have that amazing nightsky back drop and im already talking to a photographer who has experience shooting there.

That would be completely amazing. No advice, but I hope you can make it work.

A dark sky park is on my bucket list and we might do the one in Michigan for our mini-moon! We’re getting married in the northern Indiana/southern Michigan “Michiana” area and can’t do a honeymoon directly following our wedding, so we might road trip up to the dark sky park. ❤️

Me too! Such a nerd for space. Also, star gazing can be really romantic!

I agree. I saw an image of a couple at their wedding under a sky like that that was black and white. It looked so beautiful and romantic
