Has anyone gotten married on their birthday?

Me and my FH have the same birthday and have talked about getting married on our birthdays so we can just celebrate everything all together. Just wanted to hear other’s thoughts about this and see if anyone has done this before. Thanks!!

As long as you don’t mind sharing your birthday with your anniversary forever, there’s no problem with it. With you and your fiance sharing a birthday already, I think it sounds very sweet and memorable.

Personally, I like having special occasions to celebrate throughout the year so it wouldn't be my choice unless there was another compelling reason to have it then. Of course, it's entirely up to you.

I did this with my second husband. It was the worst decision of my life. My birthday basically faded into the abyss. And he wasn't big on celebrating anniversaries. So it turned into just another day

The wedding date on your birthdays would probably suffer the same problem as people born around Christmas. The day can get blended in with everything else happening. I like the idea of keeping the times distinct. But it could work where you make bigger plans for your anniversary since you are possibly putting all celebration money into that single time.

We got married the day before my birthday and 8 days before hubby’s bday, and we love that everything is so close together! I think as we get older, birthdays aren’t celebrated like they are during younger years, so having our wedding anniversary in there really adds to the celebratory vibe! And it also gives an excuse to celebrate bigger or to take a trip, since we are celebrating multiple big events.

I know a few people who have done this with no problem. But they also don’t celebrate their own birthdays. Not everyone celebrates birthdays as adults beyond going to a quiet dinner with closest friends, if at all. If you are the type to hype up a birthday instead, then a different date might be better. It’s all personal preference in the end.
