Has anyone gotten married in San Diego ?

Rue, on July 26, 2021 at 7:37 PM Posted in California Planning 0 2
We’re having a destination wedding and are having a very small official ceremony in San Diego beforehand since we can’t get legally married at our destination. I’m wondering if anyone has done this before? Im looking at their info online on the county website but it’s a bit confusing regarding if you have to apply in person before the ceremony etc. Would appreciate any info! Thanks!

Hi Rue! No matter where you get married in the US, you need to apply for a marriage license first!!

You can apply through any of the San Diego County Clerk's five offices, but you'll need to make an appointment online. You'll both need to appear in person with valid photo IDs - all the information is covered on their website:

Thanks so much for this! I had seen that different counties in CA had different rules - some you could apply online and some in person. Thank you!
